outofcontextbonappetit: Isn’t it so beautiful when people manage to capture lightning on camera
(1/2)My younger sister (let’s call her A) was diagnosed autistic/on the spectrum when she was 14 (now 20, legal adult). Also anxiety disorder & OCD. She has severe undiagnosed/UNTREATED depression... she is extremely intelligent but doesn’t take care of herself AT ALL. Goes w/o showers, brushing hair & teeth for weeks. She only listens to me sometimes, basically never listens to my parents (concerning everything). They keep asking me what to do but I seriously don’t know anymore... (cont)
(2/2) A is in severe denial about her depression (or any mental illness whatsoever). Talking about it in any way sends her into a silent rage or catatonic state; she has trigger words like “serotonin disorder” or “medication”. We accommodate her, but she has never tried any medication & we feel it may help her quality of life. A refuses any resources for learning about autism, anxiety, depression or OCD (she will become offended if you even talk about it around her)... WTF can we do to help her?
My Dad’s similar in refusing to seek help for issues which are obvious to everyone else. Unfortunately with people like this, there’s very little you can practically do, as she’s clearly decided that she knows best and everyone else is just trying to interfere.
I’m sorry I can’t give a better answer, but all you can really do is support her however you can and hope that eventually she seeks treatment

Moonmelt - "Closer (Feat. Brianna Rose)"
Slow jams. Cool vibes. Mellow vocals. “Closer” is the most recent release by Vancouver’s Moonmelt, the electronic project of Jackson Malloy and Alexander Reid.
A soft rhodes, chord progression, subtle kick drum and sultry vocals introduces the song and tone. Soon, the beat picks up, the chords pop, and soulful vocalist, Brianna Rose, blossoms. Her lyrics, draped in velvet smooth vocals, bellow “Just come a little closer, and maybe, you’ll get to have a taste. You’re all that’s on my mind, don’t you want to get it on with me”.
The song evolves, elements of a crowded room are added, the setting is set, and Brianna’s harmonizing melodies fade into the back. A sudden rush brings the track full circle and repeats. As the soulful vocals fade, “Closer” is repeated and the listener is left wondering how close she truly got.
