I wondered if you were aware that a "rampant lion" was the symbol of the Hessian grenadier battalions? I'm reading Battle of Paoli by Thomas J. No, I didn’t know this! When I was choosing my url, I had decided on “little lion” as a tribute to Alexander Hamilton (a nickname given to him by his fellow aides-de-camp while he served on the staff of Washington) but I found out that most variations of little lion were already taken but I remembered that Hamilton was somewhat renown (criticized?) for being an anglophile so I tacked on the “lion rampant” to my url because the symbol of a lion rampant had always been present in the royal arms of England and Scotland.Thanks for sharing!
