23. Have you ever pushed someone away?

D: Decoration1. how would they decorate a house if they had one under their name? 3. how do they decorate their own room?

Lyn has a very large, lovely house out on the eastern coast of Eversong, right where the grass gives way to the beach. Initially she’d wanted a cabin, something small and just for her was always the plan, but her brother had just come into a decent fortune and he wanted to help so she let him. He splurged, and now she’s got a small mansion with only her to live in it. 

She has a hard time decorating, because she has a hard time collecting things. The major points in her life have all been marked by the loss of a home, so she hesitates always in getting things that she’d be upset losing. Up to this point, just having an actual house was a big step for her. She’d been in spartan efficiency apartments for years up till then! 

But it’s something she’s been working on with her therapist as part of learning how to be happy in her own skin. Over the last six months or so she’s been starting to buy or pick up things that she likes, and that she wants to have in her home so she can actually feel settled. 

Of note is a crystal sun catcher that hangs in the floor to ceiling windows in her dining room, a record player in her living room, her husband’s sword hung up on the wall upstairs in her “office”, a Vry’kul shieldmaiden’s shield on the wall upstairs in the office, and a couple small plants scattered here and there in rooms and hallways. Furniture is mostly black with copper accents, the flooring is all wood and tile. 

Her own room is still fairly light on decor, but it’s clean. She’s finally put up curtains to cover the floor to ceiling windows when she wants to sleep in – they’re a nice neutral silvery grey. She’s got a little statuette of Eyir and a couple little golden statuettes of Valkyr warriors on her dresser – she tends to hang jewelry off the spears and wings if she’s too tired to put it away at the end of the day. Her duvet is white, but she’s got a colorful throw blanket she keeps at the foot of the bed, and the pillow cases and sheets she has are all fairly colorful too. Same goes for her bathroom towels. Beyond, and sometimes even under, the more monotone neutrals there are splashes of bright fuschias, cerulean blues, sunshine yellows and coral oranges.

( She’s been so awkward but determined to repay him since he helped her out in Shattrath, and that by itself endeared her to him more than anything else she could’ve done. Leon recognized pretty fast how unaccustomed she was to expressing gratitude without mocking it/diminishing its importance a little bit, so he appreciates the effort she’s gone to. )
