I was so ecstatic when Flightless Jailbird updated i was over the MOON i've been checking it every day since ai found it (since my friend showed it to me).

anyways yes big descriptions (mostly for Phil) would be GREATLY APPRECIATED i need to draw these fuckers so intensely :]

and okayokay this might be a bit complex because. as a longtime stalker of the Alien Philza tag on ao3 i personally am tired of plain bird alien phil. he needs more bug traits. hc!phil is literally a bug yall

easiest is sneeg bc he’s Just A Guy. scruffy unshaven longer hair. he’s got a litany of scars from Various Things, but the most important one is a starburst-looking healed burn at the back of his neck :)) he’s in a space prison jumpsuit for now. it’s dark blue :)

okay now philza. beetle bird guy. his head is like that of a crow, but the beak’s got an additional pair of mandibles to help manipulate food into mouth and such. he’s got forelimbs/arms that have 4 “fingers” to each hand (3 fingers + 1 thumb like digit)- the limbs are very buglike in makeup (exoskeletal kinda vibe?) but have keratinous nails/talons. he’s got a pair of wings that are partly membranous closer to the body and more feathery further out. dude’s covered in feathers, but beneath that is some solid carapace - if you were to pluck him he’d look way more like a bug. he’s got bird feets, again w talons. philza is also wearing a prison jumpsuit. his is light blue. the difference in jumpsuit may have to do with perceived lethality :))

LOVE THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE AU but I was wondering how does the rest of the sdr2 cast fit into it?? or is it just Kaz, Gundham, Sonia, Peko, and Fuyu??

I'm so glad to hear you like it!! As for the others, they got separated into several groups. Kaz, gundham, Sonia, fuyuhiko, and peko are one group, then chiaki, hajime, and nagito, and the rest I haven't fully decided ^^; but basically, the apocalypse started while everyone was in class and then they got split up. Our main gang here decided to run to Kazuichis workshop and steal one of the cars there (I figured they might have something like that in hopes peak). Kazuichi managed to get one up and running before Fuyuhiko demanded they all get going. Obviously the others weren't super thrilled but the rest of the school was overrun and Fuyuhiko was correct in how dangerous it would be to go back for the others. Besides, he wouldn't say it, but Fuyuhiko had faith that their friends would be fine.

it’s like when you see art you love and want to emulate the style..but it just doesn’t come naturally. it’s a struggle, even with practice. because you’re trying to force something that you wish was true but it just isn’t. i think i need to go back and reread some of my TiB chapters which were more poetic, more metaphorical, provided more imagery. but i also shouldn’t compare TiB to BSJFM because they’re very different stories. one had very little dialogue and focused on feelings over plot, while the other is very dialogue and plot heavy in addition to feelings. maybe i just haven’t found the right balance yet, idk

I’m reading it right now (because I’m only on chapter 19) and I’m trying SO DANG HARD NOT TO SKIP AHEAD BECAUSE IM GETTING ANXIOUS AND NERVOUS AND ITS KINDA NOT OK.
