Update + poll

So it looks like this semester is turning out to be incredibly writing intensive which means my slightly optimistic thought that I might get a chapter out by the end of this month is uh… well it ain’t looking good. If I get any writing time at all, it’ll probably be devoted to editing my paper since that’s slightly higher on the priority list.

I have no clue when it’s going to even out, but they really front loaded me with projects and it’s- man it’s so much right now.

But, speaking of said chapter, and things that won’t be relevant very soon (I’m good at transitions) I’ve been re-going over the plan for the next two chapters and I’ve hit a snag. Well, not so much a snag; I’ve presented myself with two options, both equally evil good, and can’t pick between them.

So I’m going to present them, without context, and let you fine freaks choose for me.

Okay so what is this conference paper you speak of?

Lord okay-

So, I’m always hesitant to share more specific details of my life because information n shit, but in brief, my university has this class you can apply for over the summer where you write an academic paper on whatever literary topic you want. It can be a book, a tv series, a movie, as long as you can RESEARCH IT you can WRITE ABOUT IT.

And uh. You can kinda see where this is going.

It’s mandatory for everyone in this class to present their papers at this conference btw.

So. In November, I’m going to be going to said conference, I’m going to stand my grown ass in front of other people, probably students, probably literary people, probably people who don’t even know what steam is, and I’m going to talk about Portal 2.

Hey, my name is Moose (Moose Man on ao3), my pronouns are a roulette wheel at the best of times so just pick something and run with it.

I’m a creative writing major first and an artist never. I swing violently between writing 15k in a week and 500 words in a month. Seriously, there is no schedule, I simply just ball. Im a rarepair conisour however the fuck you spell that

Things I’m into: Portal, Stranger things (sorta), various Resident Evils, powerpuff girls, samurai jack, various horror movies, Gravity Falls, Over the Garden Wall, etc etc. basically anything with animation I’m down to clown. Also a decent horror fan!

Doug Rattman scurries around my brain at night and constructs my dreams.

What do you do in your free time?

I'm just kidding, I'm a big gamer. SOMEONE (distant) got me into Pacific Drive recently so half of my waking time is spent wanting to be back there. But I also trawl around music shops and thrift/antique stores. I like looking at old things. Recently I've been trying to go outside more and just stand in nature, but it's very infrequent.
