HCs for the first time the Seeds tell their fem!SO they love them. Maybe things get smutty after because I'm trash. Thank you! If you don't want to do all 3 Seeds, I am a big bucket of thirst for Jacob.
no smut here, but this did get a little long….. and thank you for sending this in!! ❤️❤️
Jacob: he has trouble admitting he’s in love, even to himself. He knows what he’s feeling and he knows what it means, but it’s a lot easier (and safer) to ignore it because as long as he’s not in love then he can’t get his heart broken. And also? Jacob has a hard time believing that someone could love him in any sort of romantic capacity. So he shows his love (as best he can, though he’s also not an expert on this) in every way possible and hopes that she gets it and doesn’t reject him for it.
When he finally says “I love you” it’s either because A) he’s been backed into a corner by his own inability to just say how he feels or B) because she said it first and he can’t let her go any longer without knowing he feels it too. He’d probably mumble it, or say it so softly that she has to ask him to repeat himself, but he only wants her to be able to hear it. It’s important and it’s not for anyone else’s ears
Joseph: when he realises he’s in love he accepts it almost immediately. Of course he’s in love because that’s the natural course of his relationship with whoever he’s with. He wouldn’t worry too much about if he’s loved in return (it isn’t important since love is supposed to be something pure and unconditional) so he feels happy just knowing that he’s found someone he can be in love with. That said, he’d be even happier if his love was reciprocated
When he does tell her “I love you” it’s during a carefully planned and intimate moment (maybe a nice evening alone at the house or a picnic under the sun.) Somewhere that’s just the two of them and he can explain to her what she means to him and how much he loves her and why she’s deserving of so much more than just his love. He makes the moment about her because she means the world to him and she deserves to know
John: denies that he’s in love for a long time. It’s not love it’s lust, or it’s not love it’s infatuation, or anything else that means he won’t have to expose that part of him that can (and maybe even will) get hurt. He also has a hard time trusting that any reciprocated romantic love isn’t a means get past his defenses. That said, he does have a hard time hiding how he feels, especially at first, because in spite of his hesitation he still wants attention and affection from the person he loves
So when he does finally tell her that he loves her, it’s a spur of the moment thing that he doesn’t allow himself the time to over think (because if he overthinks then he’ll over prepare.) Just “I love you” when the two of them probably least expect it and even though he acts confidant, his heart is racing in fear of rejection. And in some ways it doesn’t matter if she doesn’t love him in return, because by the time he says it it’s a selfless kind of love. He just wants her to know
