I started following you during C2, fell off from watching C3 (though I know in broad strokes what happened during the campaign and am aware of its conclusion) and I just gotta say—I'm excited for C4 and am very excited and happy to be reading your commentary again from episode to episode. You have a lot of interesting analyses that I may not always agree with, but which always get me thinking of the characters and stories being told from a different and nuanced perspective.

Thank you so much! This means a lot, and it's been really fun to watch people who had for various reasons stepped back from the fandom between the end of Campaign 2 and the start of Campaign 4 come back!

Hello! I'm very sorry if this is a silly question/one you have already answered, but would things like cassava flour, breadfruit flour, or banana flour trigger your allergies? I don't know if they'd be feasible for you economically speaking (they are where I live, which is.. the caribbean), but I thought I might as well ask? If they didn't trigger anything, I'd be interested in maybe trying to send some but I wouldn't want to risk it otherwise.

Aw! Thank you, that’s very kind of you, but I fear would be wildly expensive for you in terms of shipping, especially given if I’m not sure I’d even be able to eat any of it.

My body develops random and new allergies pretty much on a whim based on what feels like planetary alignments some days. It’s part of a massive immune system meltdown that so far looks most likely to be MCAS but I’m struggling to get a confirmed diagnosis. It basically makes trying a lot of new foods (and even some old ones) into a dangerous game of Russian Roulette, so unfortunately I’m limited in what I can try, and need to try and keep my possible triggers to an absolute minimum or risk complications that can range from mild discomfort to outright anaphylaxis. It’s a pain in the absolute ass but it is what it is.

If however I manage to get to see another competent doctor willing to let me try those things under medical supervision with a crash cart at the ready...sure, why not :P

I realize it may have come off as me disliking the episode, but Yuichi is just specifically an affront to my sensibilities.  The show’s still good, I’m still enjoying it, and I’m very much looking forward to continuing and seeing what the deal is.

But whooooof.  Who’d have thought baring one of your most haunting fears to an audience of thousands would be so stressful? :P

After making that longpost, I don’t have anything left in me tonight.  Next up is going to be the 45-minute Steven Universe episode, which is gonna be an adventure, and take up most of March.  In the meantime, please go commission my partner for their wonderful art!  They make good stuff!

How 'bout monk/barbarian for a multiclass mashup?

So rage damage doesn’t apply to monk strikes; this is one of those things where it’s great to dip a level or for the rage resistance to damage (monk to barbarian) or some of the ki abilities (barbarian to monk) but not go further since you’ll get diminishing returns. With that said: a monk base with a few levels of barbarian seems like the better option (since stunning strike can be invoked on barbarian attacks), and I think Way of Shadow will let a barbarian become stealthy (also the shadow step grants advantage without having to use reckless attack and you can do it while raging). If you combine that with Path of the Totem Warrior, any of the three PHB options or the two SCAG options would buff a monk nicely - Bear allows more tanking of damage, Eagle saves you some ki by essentially granting free patient defense, Wolf buffs your allies in melee, and Elk or Tiger basically just make you even faster.

The beach is so much fun.  I so rarely get to go--in Maine, even the summer waters are pretty cold, but the tide pools that get uncovered every time it goes out are amazing.  I got to spend a few hours on a beach down in Trinidad during my visit, but I got warned not to go out any deeper than my chest by a very exasperated @mopomoko so that I didn’t get in danger.

water’s for swimming in, you goof.  death by riptide is a small price to pay

I actually had Korean barbecue when I went to Trinidad!  It was terrifying!  A whole bunch of different kinds of food, sauces, and materials that I was supposed to combine into one big unknown texture?  I was legit shaking by the time I left the restaurant, but it was a great time and I got to spend it with my partner, so I’m glad I went.

It was NOT what I was expecting, though--when I described hibachi to them before the visit, they said that there was a Korean barbecue place they liked that was similar.  I was expecting a big grill and a cook as a result, but it was a tiny table with a tiny grill device that you put tiny servings of meat on.

I’m really looking forward to taking them to the hibachi place in Bangor if they get to visit here.  That’s my favorite restaurant I’ve ever been to, though truth be told I haven’t been many places with any sort of claim to fanciness.
