Got a Bone to Pick with You
Despite the fact that it was constantly raining on this god forsaken island, it was a decently nice day. He had woken up and had some unexpectedly good coffee at the cafe, taken a short morning fly deep in the woods to stretch his wings before the rain had begun, and now he was walking home in a rather comfortable new rain jacket he had bought. Maybe this place really wasn’t all that bad. Especially if that red and brown looking lump over there was what he thought it was...
All of his focus went to the dead carcass laying in the grass, surrounded by trees. He slowly approached it, watching the ribcage to make sure it wasn’t breathing. It was definitely dead. Maybe, if no one was around he could just stop and have a quick bite to eat. After all, he hadn’t eaten yet today. As his hands reached out, ready to flip the deer over when he saw another pair of hands reaching at the same time. Adrian protectively hunched over his potential meal, eyes darting up to the face of the clear thief.
However he was met with the face of a young looking girl. Right, he probably wouldn’t have to literally fight for it or anything. He stood up, still standing over the dead body a bit protectively, confidently telling her, “This isn’t yours.”
