The iron smell was stronger than usual. This batch had been fed with some bizarre sort of fattening agent, and that would probably reflect on the taste.

Well, what could he do? He was a simple butcher. All he could do was stir the pot. “Make the damn morcillas, you moron, and stop complaining.” Was probably what he’d hear if he said anything to his superiors.

Damn blood sausages. Fuck ‘em blood sausages. Weird habit, these fellas had. South American food, he guessed, but couldn’t tell from where exactly. Well, what could he do?

He grabbed the next person in line and slit his throat. His masters would be satisfied, he hoped, as he spilled the blood into the cauldron.

Or else, he’d end up in a morcilla himself.
