FEMSLASH. Kahlan + Cara

The Story (short fan-fic): Richard doesn't know it yet, but Kahlan and Cara fell in love with each other. Both of them realize their duties and responsibilities and that they can't be together and serve Richard at the same time. But staying away from each other is very difficult. One day Cara walks into a bar and sees Kahlan. 

They have a conversation which Richard knows nothing about. There's another confessor who's willing to take Kahlan's place. As a Mother Confessor, she's needed in Idendril and Cara is going to take her there safely. At night Kahlan has a nightmare in which she and Cara kill Richard. When Richard tries to console her, Kahlan rejects him. The Seeker is so in love with Kahlan that he can't see or comprehend her feelings for Cara. 

The next morning she tries to leave, but he convinces her to go to Idendril together. Kahlan can't stay silent any longer and tells Richard about herself and Cara. The Seeker's rosy life filters fall and shatter. Now he knows the truth. Kahlan has to make a choice - her duty to the Seeker, or her duties as a Mother Confessor. In other words - Richard or Cara. 

But the Confessor is not the only one who decides - as Rahl, Richard controls Mord-Sith. They must listen to his orders. Richard sends Cara on a mission to Pomora and takes Kahlan to Idendril himself. He's not ready to let go of his love. On their way, Kahlan rejects Richard for the second time. This time she makes it clear - they're over. 

The next day they reach a waterfall and Kahlan tells Richard a story about it. At sunset, the water glistens red because of all the lovers' hearts who kissed there. She seems happy and lost in her own mind. Richard realizes - Kahlan has been here before. With Cara... 

Suddenly, the Mord-Sith herself shows up. Cara disobeyed Richard. She didn't go to Pomora but followed them instead. Kahlan is overjoyed but worried Richard is going to punish Cara. The Seeker looks into Kahlan's loving eyes, accepts his defeat, and allows Cara to travel with them. There's nothing he can do. They love each other and however painful that is, Richard won't stand in their way any longer.
