Shoving his hands into his pockets, Saruhiko turned his head away. A few awkward sways and shuffles, and he was standing with the intent to say something. However, he couldn’t bring himself to say it. “I...” A pause. He couldn’t believe he was doing this, but it needed to be said. So, awkwardly, he mumbled the words. “I want to hang out with you more...” This sounded so stupid that his ears and cheeks started turning red at how embarrassed he was. (Saru just... wants to disappear now)

For once, it was clear that Saruhiko wanted something. The unfinished sentence telling Yata his friend wanted to say something, which got him curious, given how Saruhiko seemed to be searching for the right words which caused a pause.

The eventually forced out statement made Yata’s eyes light up along with a burst of happiness in his chest, absolutely not thinking that it was stupid. He even disregarded Saruhiko’s reddened face, as he saw nothing wrong with wanting that. Yata welcomed it, hanging out more, wanting exactly the same. However— then Yata remembered how Saruhiko had always said how he was busy with work, not sure if he could find the time. (Yet Yata completely forgot that Saruhiko had always shown up to their ‘dates’, never even once having outright refused one.)

His excitement dulled some, and he couldn’t help but ask. “Aren’t you too busy for that with work?” Their time together was still limited, work and being in different clans not allowing much without both of them making the effort to meet more. But they could get there, now with the powers fading, and things being a lot less chaotic. But no matter how often they were together, Yata cherished every minute of it.

“But I wanna hang out with you more too whenever you can!” Back was a cheerful smile, even a light pink dusting his cheeks as well. Saruhiko wanting to be with him more made Yata just so, so happy.
