So I was working on that Jasper saving Guy from some creeps at his Strip Club job fic, but then I finally got around to watching episode 5 cause I'm also back from vacation, and then this fic just took over me the rest of the day. Finished it this morning at like 2am. Possessed again.

Anyway I hope you enjoy this second what-if senario fic.

What if Doris wasn't in the trunk of the car? How would things have played out. There was one important word I latched onto that Jasper had said... IF.

She wanted to sigh because she wasn’t certain he was going to expand the conversation unless she kept poking him, but he seemed to sense that disappointment and sought to fix it himself. “Went through a lot with Vakarian. The other Vakarian. Your brother, that is.” The side of her mandible lifted as she chuckled. “Yes, and I’m sure you have plenty to say about his honor and bravery.” He surprised her by snorting out an undignified laugh. “I have more to say about how he was a smug bastard that was lucky he had the skills to back it up, else nobody would have put up with him.” She tipped her head back with the force of her laugh, delighted and charmed with that notion. “Finally, somebody that talks about him like they actually met him.”

Luke watches the holo afterwards with an impending sense of doom.

“Of course we’re married.” Anakin is blinking at the camera guilelessly. He’s not the most media savvy at the best of times, and judging from the grease stains on his robes, they’d caught him in the middle of tinkering on something in the garage. “We’ve been married since before the end of the Clone Wars. What are you on about?”

There’s a pregnant pause in the static from the holo, and Luke shuts it off before the explosion of questions begin.
