Forgive me if these photos are fuzzy, I had an unfortunate ice tea incident which resulted in me having to get a new phone. I haven't adjusted to the Live Photos yet. We went to the Cape Mears lighthouse the other day for whale watching but all we saw was fog and rain and some really fabulous lichen. I would like to go back and make that birdhouse my own it's completely filled up with nesting materials leaving no room for a new generation of tweeters. The real kind not those in twitter. The stop sign was in front of the home of my son's friend but obviously had to be included. The trees were dripping, draping and drooping. Lichen on!

These are lichens on a smaller tree later the same morning, after considerably more rain.  I liked the littler clusters on this growth; it somehow reminded me of a forest and a waterfall at the same time.

We begin with the fence next to which I have been parking. I love the grove-like stand of lichen and moss sporting the center of cladonia. Then up close and personal with the tip of some variety looking particularly alien. A couple of more cladonia like imps, which I will look up and report on. I'm not sure if the last two photos show a lichen or lungwort. When I went back in the afternoon it had dried out and was crispy so I think lichen. I am back there tomorrow who knows what I will find. Lichen on!!!
