Alfred jolted awake at the impact, his hands flying instantly to his stomach only to find Sarah as he took in a sharp breath for air. He’d managed to doze off on the couch, only to be woken by the little sister herself. 

“Sweet Jesus, Sarah!” He gasped, looking up at the girl who had yet to move.

Samuel nearly choked at the food that was suddenly shoved at his face, ending in a muffled sound of surprise, when his hand flew to his mouth just to keep from spitting it back out. When he’d finally managed to swallow it and breath again, he grimaced, before raising looking back at Sarah, “Yeah, but warning would be nice.” He did appreciate the gesture, but warning might have helped.
