Okay Gautrat confirmed as Dash HC. His resume on their release is much more detailed than Wikipedia, recommend giving it a read. Happy to see Dash have someone who probably won’t ditch partway through the season and never return, but there are big questions and concerns.
I don’t think this is a nepo husband hiring (a la Pierre), if she was suddenly playing for Houston or he was announced as the Pride HC yeah that’s a concern, but not with this. Different organizations don’t have control over each others hiring processes in that way. But he is married to an active player on another team. I’m sure they asked these questions and I’m sure he gave the right responses, but there’s no way there isn’t a conflict of interest here.
When Dash plays Pride, there’s simply no way he can be fully objective when his wife is on the other team and on the field.
Also, they very well may both end up with inside information on the other team. Whether it be casual “hey honey how was work” conversations or if they’re physically visiting one another and there are reports, scouts, plans, anything just in their homes (which like duh there probably will be). Or if Moe hears something about a friend on another team (injury, health, general vibes) she wouldn’t tell Seb obviously but that’s something you may mention to your husband (“oh I had a conversation with _____ this really sucks for them”).
Idk, as a player on both teams, how you’d feel comfortable going into H2H matchups. It’ll definitely need to be an ongoing conversation on the teams with staff and players and everyone.
