Maybe I'm just being sentimental but there's something poetic about the "wrong" ending too. Pinoe yeeting her ACL, Alex missing the pen. Sports are real and you don't always get the ending you want or deserve, but it reminds you that all of it was real and none of it was predestined. No victory they had was ever guaranteed, it was earned with blood sweat and tears every step of the way.
