Day 7 of Lipstick-a-Day May! Twinkling Rubies by Morgana Cryptoria.
Swatches: Morgana Cryptoria Gel Lipsticks
So some of you may know of my love for the couple of gel lipsticks I got from Morgana Cryptoria a couple of months ago. Well I has more. I got Syrenka, Atlantis, 11th Hour, Persephone, Cherry Jubilee and Aisling. Love Aisling, 11th Hour, Cherry Jubilee and Persephone. I fail at applying Syrenka and Atlantis, but I knew when I bought them they might not work out for me. I’m a little sad that I can’t get them to work with me, I was hoping though! Still the other shades? Ugh love them. Persephone is such a pretty shimmery nude and Cherry Jubilee is like Twinkling Rubies in another form. It’s so pretty.
I shall let you see the pretties! Photos were taken indoors under a daylight bulb.

Anne Taintor has been seriously cool and making seriously cool and vintage things for awhile, which you can see on her store. One of my favorites being the “Guess where I’m tattooed” makeup bag. Another classic is the honey pie lip balm with the words Old Enough To Know Better...Too Young To Give A Rat's Ass one the cover of the tin. Both very true and very cute. (Can be bought at suite7beauty.com or
annetaintor.com)
Fat & The Moon are 100% organic and 100% awesome. This Mermaid Mask is great for face and hair. On the face it works a moisturizer, tones the skin and the honey lends an anti bacterial hand, so its a perfect mask for pimples and dry skin combos. On the hair is softens and gives volume and maybe even a mermaidish glow. Fat & The Moon have many amazing all natural products like lip and cheek stains, healing products and more so it’s worth a visit to their website. (16$ at suite7beauty or fatandthemoon.com)
Morgana Cryptoria has come out with some AMAZING lipsticks that remind me of the incredibly more expensive, and similar, Dolce & Gabbana Sicilian Jewels Collection except better. These lipsticks come in an insane amount of color and options. Creativity and independence ooze out of these lipsticks. From neon pink of Angelica, magical Enchanted Emerald, dreamy Lady Grey or sunshiney Marigold you know you’re gonna have a good time. (9$ at suite7beauty.com)
Face lace… Exactly what it says it is. (face-lace.com or suite7beauty.com)
My favorite part about this website is that it sells your favorite name brands while actually sometimes be major cheaper. This site is good all the way.
I haven't done lip swatches of anything in awhile, and my skin is pretty shit right now, but the lighting is extremely forgiving so here are lip swatches of my Morgana's Cryptoria order. It took a month to get to me, which was really annoying, but also not unexpected as it's stated on the website processing will take awhile. I am unsure if you will be able to purchase all of these at the moment, some of these were on Clearance or LE but she has a lot of colors on the website so you might find a similar one. These are vegan, also.
Golden Peach - (unavailable) - I feel bad even talking about this cause she isn't selling it anymore (I've had this sitting on my desk for a month, lol) but whatever. It's a shimmery, indeed 'golden' based orange. Wouldn't really call it a peach color. It's kind of like a shimmery, paler color I use when Revlon's Siren is too orange for me. Since this has shimmer in it, it can settle into your liplines. I like using this with lipgloss or topping it off with some lip balm. Not QUITE as pigmented on the first swipe as I'd like, either. I've give it a solid B.
Metallic Seafoam - ($10) - I just tend to accumulate a lot of blues, purples, and black lip colors... I have way more than I do reds and corals and ""nude"" colors. Quite a dry formulation, I wouldn't ever wear it alone because it'd be too dry and patchy (click the picture to see what I mean). I think this looks really nice underneath a gloss or lip tar, though. This is a B-.
Sugar Plum - ($7) - Where has this lipstick been all of my life? Um, obsessed. It is not a perfect formulation -- it has slip, more than I'd like. If it were Illamasqua's formulation, a little dryer (this is the least dry out of the bunch) I think it'd be perfect. I'd give this an A- and that is because I haven't worn it for long long lengths of time. I feel like this is also a good dupe for that Limecrime color if you were looking for one.
Asylum - ($5) - Bleh. I mean, it's a beautiful color, yes, but also you need a base color or it's going to look like you have a weird mouth disease. Here is it on my bare lips. I think, if you wore black lipliner or a black lipstick underneath it, it would look really beautiful though. I guess this is a C+. With a base, it'd be a B.
I mean, my grades for these products are mediocre but I do think they are a great value and especially considering they are in really nice packaging especially for indie brands -- Morgana uses bullets. The packaging isn't uniform throughout the lipsticks though, which I personally find irritating. However, for the value -- similarly pigmented lipcolors in these shades are going for like $15+ in Sephora and elsewhere, so you should definitely check her out.
For people who are looking for an alternative to the same boring red, pink, brown lip colours...Morgana
Evil Shades lip colours are great!
The colour I'm wearing is called Cyanide, it's one of their 'Deviant Lipsticks' I also have one of their 'Hardcore Lipsticks', Miscreant. It's a darker blue with no sparkle. I also have 4 of their eyeshadows, 3 different shades of purple, a silver, and an eye cream. Their products are really great, have great coverage, don't fade, and don't stain. Evil Shades have a lot of different colours, many different shades of blues, greens, purples, silver, gold, everything.
Another company that I've looked into, but haven't bought anything from yet is Morgana Cryptoria. She has an amazing selection of lip colours, both lipsticks and lip glosses. Her range is a bit bigger than Evil Shades, but I have yet to try any of them. They look great, and the other reviews for her make up are good too.
And both of these companies are really cheap! Which is great! Yay!
So, if you're interested in the more odd colours for lipsticks, I highly suggest checking out these two companies.
Part of my make up collection.
