Outstanding bill, outstanding bill, yup, she’d missed them both. Oh well, she would make sure to remember next time.
Once Joaquin left for work, and baby Elise was fed and tucked in for a nap Miera tiptoed outside to finish her latest piece, a Realism painting nicknamed Cars, Fact Or Fiction? When she called the appraiser to have it priced it turned out to be a Masterpiece worth over $3000 simoleons!
That plus her previous savings of over $3000 surpasses the $5000 mark!

CHALLENGE COMPLETE!
[With eleven days until Elder status! I gave her a personal deadline of the Elder birthday to accomplish all goals.]
Grand Total: $14,228
Most Recent Bills: $320
Cash Left Over: $6,279

That was fun-- I might try it again at some point... with harsher rules and the Ingredients Required mod from the beginning, because I’m Evil. ;D
I may play her a bit more, to move Joaquin in and get Elise to the toddler stage. [I may also use teen/YA Elise for a different challenge.]
She went to the bathroom to see if they kept a supply of salve, but found nothing. As she came out, a swarm of flies attacked her. They were everywhere!
Note to self: pick up some bug repellent!
Frustrated with herself, but determined not to let this chance slip by, Miera followed him and apologized for her faux pas.
He laughed and shook it off. “Don’t worry about it, we all have those moments. Would you like to play horseshoes with me?”
Instead of hunting down more ingredients, Miera spent the rest of the day with Joaquin. He was very chatty, and goofier than anyone she had ever met.
As a matter of fact, he was so distracting that she totally forgot she still had to pack up camp, and like Cinderella, she had to steal a kiss and make a speedy surprise exit.
Another addition, this time a proper kitchenette!
And a reference painting she made while at the Chalet. Adds a touch of color to the drabness. =)
Total So Far: $5,345

Next on the list:
- Level 7 in the Painting skill? (kaching!)
(As always, more room!) ◔̯◔
And $5,000 Simoleons in Savings.
Occasionally, in the place of office work they had Miera go out and talk to people, try to get their attention, collect petition signatures, donations, and the like. It was tiring, but in a thoroughly more enjoyable way than her old-constant-construction-work kind of tired.
Here, she was working for others, not just herself; she was doing something good, and big!
She was terrified the whole time, and rightfully so- her singing was terrible! She kept waiting for Gavin or another host to yank her off stage with a comically long cane. But Joaquin thought she did great, and that was all that mattered to her.
They went back to her place, and finished off their sakura tea in private.
She bought a souvenir t-shirt, and then Joaquin invited her to try out the new karaoke machine inside before they left.
“I’ve never used this before, how does it work?” Miera scrunched up her nose nervously.
“Oh it’s easy,” Gavin smiled at her. “You pick the song that you want, and the words come up on this monitor for you to follow along.”
