They're both based off a fictional astrological system I had going for one of my other settings- they're based off the Wolf and Lion constellation signs. I made Sentin the way they are because I realized that wolves are... they're not really as scary as they're hyped up to be. They're friendly enough that they were domesticated into dogs eventually. That doesn't mean they're not wild animals, though, and it would be wrong to bring them out of the wild.That's a lot of what applies to Sentin, too- they have one of the 'scary' mental disorders (schizoaffective disorder), but they're ultimately friendly and harmless, unless you threaten them. They also don't fare too well in a city setting, prefering the comfort of having foragelands right out their door.With Moriga I was trying to avoid a lot of the 'cat troll' things- I didn't want a Nepeta clone - and I realized that one thing involving cats very often was magical girl anime, especially Sailor Moon. I also know that cats are very controlling of thier surroundings and want things to be just so. Combine that with the fact that most anime is gross garbage, I decided to make her work with some kind of censorship agency, one you'd easily find in a dystopia like Alternia.I also wanted to make a character who was ostensibly hemoloyal, so there she is- she has unfaltering loyalty to her Empress, regardless of who that is or what they do.
