Despite the circumstances, time had seemed to pass rather quickly. It had been quite a few weeks now, perhaps months, since he had heard even a single word from his friend. This was because the fellow half-elf had left for something and never returned, and that something that he had gone away for was never revealed either.
It didn’t matter.
Mithos suspected that it was an excuse to leave, since not much else made sense at this point. Perhaps that might be an irrational thought, but he believed it with about his entire being -- all his life he had been abandoned, so it wouldn’t be a surprise. It was easier for him to tell himself what it was, then try to keep believing in those he cared about. They always went away, in one way or another, and it was easier when it didn’t hurt.
Instead of letting the thoughts bother him too much, the blond chose to live, because there was nothing else he could do, having another chance like this. A chance without the power he had before. He would live life as normal, that is, how others would. How poorly or well he could manage to (it was hard to know). There was no use worrying over something that couldn’t be helped, or looking for information that he knew wouldn’t be found. He had wasted enough of his time on such things anyway.
Besides, this town was -- quieter than he expected. They could blend in here. Little was said of half-elves, so nothing could bother him here. It was a breath of fresh air. Sure, there were still doubts about humans, but there was little that he could do about that. The uncertainty would always be present, because of what had happened in his past. Maybe he wasn’t exactly content with how everything was at this moment, though was there much else?
This was a safe place.

Everything from the architecture to the people seemed... different. This world... felt different. Halved, somehow, in a way she couldn't quite place her finger on. Recon was of the utmost importance in worlds like this, worlds rich with culture and technologies unfamiliar to them.
The heartless were few in number, the plague seemingly kept at bay for the time being. Quiet as a shadow the girl crept out of the alleyway she'd appeared in, carefully skirting around the curious stares of passerbys. At once she's cataloguing the people, the differences, getting a feel for the darkness in the heart of this world.
Whatever it was, something was holding it at bay.
She turns a corner. And another - the squirm of a shadow catches her attention and she's whipping around, bracing for combat and --
hitting something with an outstretched arm.
"Oh, I'm sorry!" But she's at a run anyway, there's no time to waste.

Or you could try talking to her in person like a normal human being.
"I-I respect her freedom! She deserves it."

Knights scrambled around, faulty footwork leading to the group tripping into one another, falling crudely to the ground. An annoyed sigh escaped her lips, slashing at the small monster that had jumped at them. As the sword was sheathed once more, attention turned away from the new recruits. Gaze landed on a new face, standing mere feet from her.
“ ----Did the Commandant send you as well? ”
