If asked, she'll tell him she's from Marienburg, but that she can trace her ancestry back to the Land of a Thousand Gods, better known as Ind, as well as the southern part of the Lustria continent. But this is, for once, not her story to tell. So she'll keep her mouth shut about the Hinterlands of Khuresh and the Nagas.
She wonders if he'll shake her hand. After all, isn't there a proverb about a Marienburger counting your fingers after you shake their hands?
"Well," she says at last, hoping he won't mind the way her voice sounds; she speaks more than one language. "I just so happen to love stories." Udyati is quite the storyteller herself. Despite her staccato accent, stretched vowels, sentences that rise and fall in a sing-song fashion, and the very tendency to talk with her hands. "I'm all ears, as my Amma always says."
