He's from Germany and he's tied with Draisaitl for highest drafter German player in history. Prior to the NHL he played for Adler Mannheim in the DEL and also captained Team Germany this year at the WJC.
He and Byfield were essentially neck and neck in the 2020 draft and either one of them could have gone second or third but ultimately LA took Byfield so Ottawa took Tim.
His nickname in Germany was Timmy/Timi/Timmi (I've seen it spelled all three ways) but in Ottawa, Brady Tkachuk nicknamed him Jimmy Stü.
He presently lives with Brady Tkachuk and Josh Norris and has a cute bromance with them.
Right now he has the highest goal scoring count for rookies (4 goals in 8 games) in the NHL.
He's known to be kinda goofy, there are some cute interviews out there of him and Lukas Reichel and Moritz Seider acting up but they're almost all in German.
Highly recommend watching his draft day video by Magentasport with subs, it was really cute.
Also Lukas Reichel said one of his best qualities is that he's good at talking to girls.
