This is a meh photo but I don’t especially care. Tonight I received my fourth AML Drama Award for MOUNTAIN LAW. It’s especially meaningful because I have been constantly worried about this play being the one that no one but me loves, but a very kind citation says otherwise, and I’m grateful. I’ve been thinking a lot about my friend Eric Samuelsen today; I just finished an introduction to a collection of his plays, and he loved this play and encouraged me in writing it; it’s dedicated in his memory. I’m also nervous and honored to be following in his footsteps as AML’s president-elect. Whew.
