Personal explanation of Satan’s many names:
note: This covers my canon, and diverging opinions are completely allowed! Satan: The one we all know! This is his demonic name, the one he took on after the fall. This is the only name he had in hell that wasn’t a title or a nickname Lucifer: Another one you’re probably familiar with! This was, at least to my knowledge, a nickname given to him by the angels post-fall Morningstar: More a family name now, see Lucifer. Mephistopheles: His angelic name! Before the fall, this was his name, though, like many fallen angels, he chose another to avoid being associated with his previous life. Beelzebub/Baal/Asmodeus/etc.: While these in human history reference the same entity, these are, in my canon, misnomers. Generally, one of his children would introduce themselves with “Morningstar”, and it would be falsely assumed that Satan was present, rather than one of 13 children.
