AAAAAAAAND second commission for @celestialportal, feat/ @ardate‘s Morribel that We Stan And Love And Appreciate A Lot in this house
Early, young, and long with Houndmaster, Tarasque, Nikita, and Morribel! Also hell yes I love your original ask game the questions are so good!!!
Early- Is your OC a night owl or an early bird? When is their favorite time to rest?
Houndmaster: Fairly early bird. She took the habit of waking up very early while living in the dump with the dogs, but just like them she took regular naps throughout the day... It’s something she no longer can do now that she’s employed at RED, so she goes to sleep earlier and wakes later than she used to.
Tarasque: Very early bird! He doesn’t actually require much sleep, especially in his ghoul form. That form doesn’t require nearly as much energy as his true form, so he’s constantly pretty energetic and rarely tired.
Nikita: Night owl 100%. If the world let her, her cycle would be completely flipped from the rest of humanity, but she does try to keep it under control.
Morribel: Neither! She goes to bed at an acceptable time but she’ll still stay in bed for ages if you let her. That’s because she has an extremely light sleep and will jump awake at any occasions, so she’s overall rather sleep deprived.
Young- How different is your OC now compared to when they were a child? What has changed, if anything?
Houndmaster: She is actually less feral than she was as a child, and overall more open and talkative! Tiny Hound went 100% with her dog life, and it was very difficult for her when she finally tried to get a tiny job in the nearby farms when she was a teen.
Tarasque: My boy Tarasque was never a child. He was a big beast chillin’ in a bog. The main difference being that he’s stopped eating humans now that he has a conscience. The temptation is still there sometimes in front of annoying people but,,
Nikita: She was a happy child up until 10 years old. After that, family and school matters broke her down rather quickly, and though she still found it in her to be fun around the right people, the way she viewed the world changed to a darker vision.
Morribel: She was happy and confident, until she started to question her upbringing and the righteousness of villainy. She had started fighting off her own father on those views which soured her quite a bit, but she found strength in that fight. Then the robo-pirates attacked, and that definitely broke her heart and made her into a more cynical person who struggles to believe in a long-lasting happiness.
Long- What is one of your OC’s long lasting relationship? Be it friendship, family, romance…
Houndmaster: Her family. It’s complicated to explain given the too-short lifespan of canines, but her pack is still one monolith in her heart, something that never failed her nor wavered in loyalty.
Tarasque: His relationship with Papa 1 was the closest and most long lasting, up until his untimely death. After all, the old man took him under his wing the moment Tarasque arrived, and never stopped being there for him.
Nikita: Probably Kris! Nikita’s disconnected to a lot, be it places or people, but Kris stayed a true friend to go back to despite both of their busy lives.
Morribel: Since she lost her whole planet, Morribel doesn’t have much left of her old life - be it on there or on the Buccaneer. She’s rebuilt her social life in the Glade from nothing, and that started with H. He’s definitely her longest lasting relationship since she arrived.
A little Morribel for @ardate on this day!
Your creativity and imagination knows no bounds, and how wonderful it is you decide to share these parts of yourself with us! Hope today treats you well, pal <33
@ardate How wonderful is it that a mind such as yours can be so creative? Putting pieces of yourself and giving them life like that is too great of a power, and worthy of someone such as yourself. And how much more wonderful is it that you share these pieces of you with the world?
Your presence in this world is a very beautiful thing. Never stop being you.
I just felt a mighty need to draw @ardate’s Rayman oc, Morribel, today
It’s such a good character design to work with bros
✂️🎭🧸🍺 Hound, Tarasque, Morribel, Nikita! >:3c
✂️ - What kind of thing would have your OC cut someone out of their life? How likely are they to let someone back in?
Houndmaster- She gives a LOT of second and third and hundredth chances to people - she so desperatly wants to be accepted and included by others, she gives them the benefit of the doubt to a fault... It’s something she ends up growing out of with time however, as she finds herself more confident in her humanity. She ended up cutting Demo out of her life after years of relationship due to him promising but never actually getting help to get out of his alcoholic habits... So the answer is to get cut off out of her life, you need to be breaking one too many promises. She’ll let you back in if you show improvement and actually try to apologize and mend things.
Tarasque- He’s not the best at dealing with non-physical conflict, and gets lost trying to imagine how to handle situations. He forgives fairly easily however, and most conflicts being fairly unimportant, it usually ends up happily. However after the death of the papas leading to Cardinal Copia’s leadership, he did cut him out of his life (as much as he could, being the head of security...) by avoiding him physically and ignoring him when he had to be in his presence. As he understood how the Clergy was the reason for the assassinations and not Copia, he will let himself grow close to the man again.
Morribel- Oh she holds grudges and you better believe once you’re in her bad folder you will NOT come out of it. She is stubborn and will cut people out of her life fairly easily, before moving on. It is partly why and partly because she is extremely distrustful - it is very hard for her to grow close to people, even more if she’s expecting a treason around every corners.
Nikita- She forgives but does not forget. If you did her dirty she will file that somewhere under your name and there it will stay. She’s still open to mending things and can heal a friendship if she’s up for it. If you betrayed her too deeply however she will hate you until the end of times, and you better hope for your health you won’t cross her path again.
🎭 Does your OC show different sides of themselves to different people?
Houndmaster- Not really. Sometimes she will try to appear smarter or more sophisticated than she is, but it simply does not work! She is very much herself most of the time, with all the good and the bad that implies.
Tarasque- Yes, he is at his truest self with only a handful of people - Papa Emeritus I in particular, but also Street Ghoul and Cardinal Copia before their falling out. The rest of the time he keeps a modest distance with everyone else, just like most people do! He’s also showing a way colder and more aggressive side of himself when on the job, protecting the head of the church from fangirls at best and assassins at worst.
Morribel- She is a brick wall surrounded by a brick wall held together with tinier brickwalls as mortar. She will seems feral and rabid to people trying to get close without her wanting to. Only with a lot of time and trust will she stand down from her defensive stance and let people have a look at her softer and kinder self. As of now it only means H, and Ly who chipped away at her defenses surprisingly quickly.
Nikita- She has a handful of different sides for different occasions, like most people. She’ll be her stupid loud self at parties, and her soft-spoken wise self when giving advice, being one and the other and the whole.
🧸 On a scale of 1 - 10, how ‘soft’ is your OC? 1 being the edgiest of edges and 10 being a literal teddy bear that cries at everything?
Houndmaster- Probably somewhere around 7. Because for sure she loves hugs, she loves soft things, she’s a loyal and kind person... But she’s also a mercenary, someone who has and will kill people gruesomely and be paid for it - or not, since she already murdered people before getting hired by RED. She kills and has a good amount of fun doing it! So all in all, very soft the majority of the time, but a fierce killer as well.
Tarasque- I’d say 8! He is a BIG softie and he loves all soft things like teddy bears and making flower arrangements with Papa I. Of course though, that’s until you push him over the edge and invoke his beastly wrath... But that has happened very rarely! Despite his nature he’s about the softest and most patient of the ghouls.
Morribel- Something like 3. She can enjoy soft things when she manages to get comfortable, but that’s a big step for her to reach. And she’s mostly an edgy ass all around.
Nikita- 6-ish? She can be soft but she’s not that soft either. A healthy balance I guess hfbgjn
🍺 - What kind of drunk are they? (e.g. talkative, sleepy, flirty etc.)
Houndmaster- Sleepy drunk! She doesn’t like the taste of alcohol aside from a couple of sweeter drinks so she doesn’t end up drunk very often, but when she does she’s just a slower and sleepier version of herself.
Tarasque- Either high energy talkative or sluggish mute and there’s no inbetween
Morribel- She can be any type of drunk depending on the day! From sleepy to talkative to extremely happy to destructive....
Nikita- High-energy party Nikita most of the time! There’s always exceptions but usually it’s just good (and loud) vibes.
Future and Hours for Morribelle!
Future- What is your OC’s long term goal, whether to them or to you as the author? Where do you want them to go/Who do you want them to be by the end of your story?
I want Morribel to find peace. I want her to reconnect with the concept of ‘home’, and to manage to sincerely trust again. That’s what her character arc is meant to be; healing enough to realize everyone belongs somewhere and that no matter what, there will always be someone out there to sincerely love you.
Hours- How would an enemy of your OC describe them?
Annoying petty little rat with anger issues
