For two reasons

1. Our Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, is a piece of shit who is not only doing NOTHING to help, but has said insensitive shit like that the volunteer firefighters “want to be out there”, and deserves to be held accountable as he could actually make a fucking difference like literally every fucking Prime Minister who’s been in office in a fire season even half this bad before him. 

He holidayed in Hawaii while the fires raged on. He only returned after two volunteer firefighters died. He refuses to declare a national emergency despite the fact that 15,000,000 acres have burnt since August, and it is only the start of summer for us. During Our last catastrophic fire season, “Black Saturday” 1,100,000 acres burned. The Amazon? It’s had 2,240,000 acres burned.

Fifteen. Million. Acres. doesn’t constitute a national fucking emergency, because this piece of scum would sooner see his country in ashes than admit that there’s a problem with his fucking policies.

This bastard deserves to have his name forever associated with the catastrophic disaster he did nothing to stop.

2. I am Australian, these bushfires are fucking scary, and people in my state are being told to evacuate their homes, or even flee to the ocean. I have friends who have had to evacuate. People only 25 km (15 miles) from me have been told to evacuate. I wake up to smoke filling the air almost every day. People can’t breathe in a major city only a state away.  I’d really like to be able to block a tag so I don’t see even MORE of the destruction that I am already witnessing firsthand when I try to use tumblr as an escape to deal with anxiety.

For one, he is from the Liberal Party, which is Australia’s republican party.

For another thing he abandoned the Australian people to burn in bushfires so he could take a holiday. 

People have died, and he yet refuses foreign aid. The fires have burned the same amount of area as all of south eastern UK, or for the American people, from NYC too well beyond Philadelphia. 

We are dying, and he has abandoned us. Please throw something at him!

The fact he touches several people who specifically say they don’t want him to touch them is just one more disgusting thing this man is doing.

I’ve voted in 3 elections now. Not once did I vote for the LNP.

Our PM, our supposed leader has been on holiday for about a week now. Before this, he refused calls and demands for actions, refused to meet with fire chiefs, instead telling us to look forward to the cricket and focusing on his religious discrimination bill.

It took him nearly a week to respond to calls of “where the hell are you?”. It took protestors marching to Kirribilli House and some deciding to camp there. It took 2 firefighters losing their lives and 3 more being hospitalised.

And what’s his response? I pushed my leave forward so I can see Modi and Abe in January. And a “sorry if you’re offended but not really, I’m putting this in so people don’t get mad lol”

The country that you are an elected official of, is on fucking fire. Firies are crowdsourcing food, water and gear. The air quality in Sydney last week (which btw, was when he was in town) was equivalent to smoking 34 cigarettes.

Don’t tell us to let go of our “needless anxiety” and stay in school when kids who were out protesting have now had school cancelled because of the conditions.

Don’t tell us “thoughts and prayers” will do the job whilst refusing to meet with fire chiefs and support people on the ground.

Don’t tell us you’re “sorry if any one was offended” by you leaving because we’re not. We’re angry. We’re pissed off. You are an incompetent leader, a joke at best and at worst, a shining example of how money and politics is being prioritised over climate action.

Hi this is an app most Australians have on their phones now because this is what our country looks like right now.

The fires have spread from the bush of Victoria all the way up to just past the border of Brisbane. Our prime minister Scott Morrison has not put any money towards our fire services and our fire services consists of volunteers they did not get a break over Christmas to see their families and people in areas the fires are directly affecting didn't get a break either. New year's Eve people at a beach were forced into the water because the fire came in so fast they could not be evacuated. New year's day seven bodies were found and one person is still missing.

these fires have been going since the beginning of November and it is only getting worse. My aunt is getting ready to evacuate the Bushland she lives in while her young daughter waits for her in Melbourne and they risk losing their home just like the more than 700 families who have already lost theirs.

Scott Morrison keeps telling us to hold strong to have faith that our battler spirit will get us through it while he sits in his ivory tower untouched by the chaos and refuse to contribute to the fight.
