I had an whole other piece (which was made by me making 3 drawings and editing them together which took so much time) which I decided I didn't like so I made this one
Nobody said redemption was easy, even more so when you live with the people you traumatized. Kai is not happy with the arrangement and Morro just wants out of the shirt its kinda chocking him @morrotober
Day 30 Redemption! I remember why I don’t draw Kai very often, his hair was a pain the ass to draw! I also gave him heterochomia with blue and brown segments in his eyes, Nya will have this too. Yes Kai’s eyes are very dramatic they are supposed to mimic fire (I just wanted to draw this man with dramatic eyes)
In any kind of au where Morro is revived, istg he would forget to breathe, you can't just go 50(?) years not needing to breathe and then be completely fine with it afterwards.
I hc that whenever revived Morro is particularly stressed or overwhelmed he just stops breathing. Like bro will have to start manually breathing again

Morro always wanted a cat. Cats were so cute, so small, and they were so funny looking something that Morro couldn’t help but coo at them.
But that was just a stupid dream. Cats, just like every other pet, were too much work, too much money, too risky. Morro couldn’t afford to care a cat as a lowly street-rat, and even if he could, his love was just rotten, poisoning everything he dared to love.
Because of that, Morro tried his fucking best to ignore every single cat he came across, even if he wanted to scoop them up all and hug them. He told himself that it was better to ignore the cats, so he wouldn’t hurt them.
However, it was hard to lie to oneself, and it was even harder to make oneself think about something other than what was bothering them. It was just like the pink elephant thought experiment; you couldn’t force yourself to think about something else.
Morro never stopped wishing for a cat.
When Wu adopted Morro, Morro didn’t think it would last. After all, why would this old man, who lived in a boat by himself, take in a street urchin for any reason besides nefarious ones? Morro might have been functionally illiterate but he wasn’t stupid. He knew to keep his guard up.
But…nothing bad happened to him. Wu didn’t beat him, didn’t try to sell him, barely even punished Morro when he fucked up. It was…bizarre. Morro didn’t know how to feel about it.
It felt too good too be true, that was how it felt. Like it was a dream Morro was going to wake up from, and everything was going to be the way it was before.
Time even felt like a dream, with the days blending into one another.
One day, it stopped feeling like a dream, though. Morro came down one morning, only to be greeted by Wu smiling next to a box.
Morro raised an eyebrow. “Hello?”
Wu smiled. “Hello, son. I have a surprise for you.” he patted the box. “Go on, open it.”
Hesitantly, Morro opened up the box, wondering what kind of cruel prank it was.
Inside, there was a pure black kitten, with the greenest eyes Morro had even seen. Morro’s throat tightened at the sight of the cat, and tears filled his eyes.
Wu jerked in spot. “Morro?! W-what’s wrong? Do you not like cats?”
Shaking his head, Morro rubbed his eyes furiously. “No! I…I don’t understand. Why-why-” The question lodged itself in Morro’s throat, and the teen couldn’t make himself ask.
Thankfully, Wu understood what Morro wanted. “Because I love you, and you always light up whenever we pass a cat. I thought it would make you happy.”
Wu didn’t even have time to react before Morro was crashing into him, sobbing.
