Things my cousin (Cassian's original creator before I took over) noticed when I finally showed her the comic:

1. She approved of Cassian's design and specifically complimented the tail of his demon form

2. Cassian struggling to pronounce the plant name while talking to Blaire (she laughed because it is very in-character)

3. The part in page 4 when Cassian talks over/interrupts Finn

4. She mentioned how Blaire simultaneously looks very feminine and masculine somehow. I nearly screamed in joy because that was 100% my intention when making his design and I didn't even mention it to her; she picked it up on her own, which means it actually got across without me needing to explain!! :D

5. She actually complimented the text font, which surprised me because I'd started kinda hating it, but ig it's not so bad after all :>

is Cassian’s demon form controlled or does it occur itself? Like, does Cassian choose when he presents as a demon vs as a regular human?

Cassian chooses when to present as a demon and when to present human, but he can and does lose control sometimes. Strong emotions can make his demon form come out (which is unfortunate, since Cassian is notorious for not being able to control his emotions). It is also significantly more difficult to use magic while in human form, and Cassian, being a pretty inexperienced demon, has an especially hard time.

Cassian was also taught basically since birth (or summoning?) to hide the fact that he's a demon, so he nearly always appears human, even at home/alone, but it does require some effort, so occasionally, when he's especially tired, he will relax in demon form. The only people he appears in demon form (and the only people who know he's a demon) are Finn and Lancaster. He even appears as a human in front of his father, even though Mr. Bauer obviously knows.
