I appreciate your commentary on the tumblr porn post, and just want to clarify I'm coming at it as a trans person who occasionally draws catgirl balls for money. Obviously those are fine motivators to have, I'm just irked by the hypocrisy of a subset of users who stop at that thought and don't bother to learn what bringing back porn will actually entail. You're right though!
Thanks for responding! There is absolutely a level of hypocrisy across all different "factions" so to speak about The Porn Ban and I do think it's important to talk about. Full disclosure that I absolutely do see why it's important to prioritize sex workers and other already marginalized people (like queer educators) in conversations about the porn ban, because they really are the most negatively affected. I just also think there's a kind of hypocrisy to people (not just your post I've seen this ALL over, often a lot more explicitly) treating others wanting porn back for the sake of wanting and liking porn as a frivolous concern. Idk there's a lot of layers to this talk but ultimately I think "porn should be allowed on social media because it's people's livelihoods", "social media regulations unfairly target LGBT content as 'adult' in pursuit of Banning Porn", and "porn should be allowed on social media because people like porn and that's not bad" all need to coexist. If that makes any sense lol
