   OUT OF ALL PEOPLE, she just happened to be telling him all this. and, out of all people, he had to be the one whose night would turn into a pagan confessional, just right here. in his apartment. her words fill the air and break it, just as he looks up from his glass of wine. good news: he’s a fantastic listener. the bad: that shoulder of his, the one people lean on too often ( for reasons beyond him ), can only support the physical weight. not the heaviness of her confession.
