now that its in my head i keep thinking about kagome and gaius with a baby and just

the look on his face after she’s given birth and he just looks at them, kagome exhausted and sweaty but absolutely glowing as she cradles their baby in her arms??? the look on his face the first time he gets to hold the baby???

OR EVEN BEFORE THE BIRTH, the two of the laying next to each other, gaius’ hand on kagome’s rounded belly when he looks up, a vulnerable look tinged with fear on his face as he searches kagome’s for an answer when he asks in the softest whisper, “d’you think I’ll be a good father?”

and then kagome’s answering smile, as she covers her hand over gaius’ and says, firm and strong without a hint of doubt, “you’ll be the best, i know it.”

OR LET’S SAY kagome’s the mu, oh god angst abound, and she’s the one who’s doubting, scared and worried that what with news of validar’s control over her, she’ll be the one that ruins the future, that she won’t be able to resist. that they won’t be able to have the family they were so eagerly hoping to have after the fighting was over

and gaius taking her by the cheeks, pressing his forehead to hers, staring straight into her eyes as he fiercely tells her she’s strong and smart and they can do this, they will do this, with him at her side every step of the way, and that he believes in her and so she should too.

kagome i can imagine screaming it with ease (trouble should be that child’s middle name) but fenris – he’s more of the growling under the breath type like, “frey-yaaa,” whenever she does something truly terrible (yep, got her papa wrapped around her finger – more often than not he’s not-so-secretly proud of the trouble she gets into… right up until the moment she sneaks out during the night to go kissing that cute apostate that’practically been panting after her)
