Morwinyon or Morwinthi is a star named in the earliest tales of Tolkien's legendarium. Tolkien's son Christopher identified it as Arcturus, the third brightest individual star visible in the Northern Hemisphere with an orange-yellow colour.

Does Morwinyon know about her mother's involvement in the Fëanor stuff and how does she feel about it?

Morwinyon knows that her mother is a scion of Fëanor (and therefore Morwinyon and Legolas are too) but even Legolas was born after all the Feanori stuff happened, and Thranduil and the silvan told mostly complimentary tales because everyone involved is biased. The Noldor that went to Mirkwood with Laeriel didn't have much to do with the kid that (to all appearances) mostly stayed in her room, and as you find out in the one instance of Orvaië's PoV, some of them aren't super pleased that Laeriel married a Sindar either, so her (slightly more than) half Sindar kids are kind of... eh? To them.

So all of this to say: Morwinyon had a sanitized version of her mother presented to her growing up and isn't even aware that Laeriel was involved in Inheritance Question Shenanigans.

Didn’t they have really ambitious plans for character interaction? I haven’t played Deadfire, but from what I’ve read, the relationships there weren’t exactly revolutionary.

dude... i played like 1\3 of deadfire... and i don’t have it in me to explain how fucking annoying character interactions became in it. i liked aloth fine in poe, but in deadfire he suddenly got a huge stick up his ass, like it literally felt like they just put an intern to flag every PC’s line that had words “god”, “faith” or jokes to trigger his disapproval. it was not a problem of romance, but of blunt flat characterization

Yeahhhhhhh, I don't doubt it. Which makes using cyberpunk even grodier like using it as an aesthetic instead of a commentary is just ugly, especially since the genre itself is so steeped in racism/ableism to begin with.

I've seen people praise TLJ because it has women and people of colour, but they conveniently ignore how those characters are written. I don't understand how any woman can look at TLJ!Rey (because she sure isn't the same person she was in TFA) or Holdo and consider them good representation.

Agreed. And I get that people do! I get that people legitimately like that portrayal, enjoyed it, and defend it. But I sincerely disagree and the main reason I do not contend racism or misogyny on the part of Rian Johnson is because I think it's such a shitfest through and through that I can’t attribute any particular flaw to malice or bias on his part. I do think it is an example of how poorly written characters can be when the writer is unthoughtful about race and gender in narrative (I used to sort of assume that mere addition of diversity would lead to better texts as you inevitable differentiate between your characters and try to give them substantive arcs; you really fucking need that second part). But I will reiterate that I think every single character is poorly written -- not just that, insultingly written. A slap in the face to the human condition.
