In Which Sirius Shows off his flirting skills.. Sort of

Here's the Sirius Black fic for Anon!! I hope it's alright, I tried my best, but I'm new to fanfiction writing. I was trying to capture the sweeter side of Sirius, since he's so often portrayed as cocky. Enjoy!! ~ James and Sirius exited the castle with their robes flowing behind them, their shirts untucked. The sun was glowing through the trees around Hogwarts , the end of exams nearing. "Do you think we could push him into the Black Lake? " James' voice was filled with loathing as he nodded at Severus Snape , who was reading a book a few feet in front of them. "Well, Prongs, " said Sirius in a mischievous voice, " A simple charm would probably do the trick.. We wouldn't even need to touch him.." "I like the way you think, Padfoot. I would like to avoid getting his grease on my robes if we could." James grinned almost giddily , his eyes shining with glee. "No , no, absolutely NOT." Remus was hurrying behind them , catching up to them after having a quick word with Professor Mcgonagall regarding his OWLs. "Look, I don't like him anymore than you do , but the last thing we need is to spark a feud with the Slytherins right no-" "Moony! Can you hear yourself!" Sirius gauked at him. " When aren't we feuding with those slimy gits?" Remus sighed and looked at his friends . "Can't we just get down to the Quidditch pitch before Mr Brilliant Chaser here gets kicked off the team for being late?" "James is the best player they've got! They'd never- James? James , what're you staring at- oh my gOD come on you're gonna be late." Sirius slapped James upside the head , having caught him staring wistfully at Lily Evans, his greatest enemy , and the love of his life. After the boys tore James away from his day dreams about Lily, they started off towards the pitch. James was just practicing with his fellow Gryffindor team mates today, but Sirius and Remus liked to be there to support him, and anyways , what else were they going to do? Study? Pfffft not likely. Okay, it was likely for Remus to be studying , maybe , but never Sirius. It wasn't that Sirius didn't care about school, he just felt that he had better things to do than bury his nose in a Transfiguration text book, when he was going to do fine on his exams anyway. He had a knack for the stuff. He'd much rather make fun of James swan diving on his broomstick with Remus. When they made their way to the bleachers , Sirius and Remus sat at the very top ones , enjoying the view of the pitch. There were a few other spectators around. Mostly Gryffindors, like Frank Longbottom, who was was sitting a few rows down from them , watching his girlfriend Alice wrestle a bludger out of its box. There was also a hand full of muggle born first years close to the ground , soaking up every last bit of magic and whimsy that they could before the end of term. The sun was glowing down on them and there was a sprinkling of puffy clouds in the bright blue sky. Sirius smiled , looking down to see how Alice was managing that bludger , when he saw her- A 5th year Ravenclaw student was perched three rows down from him and Remus. Her curly brown hair was just above her shoulders, and her eyes were scanning the field below over her horned rimmed glasses. Sirius subconsciously fixed his long black curls , pulling some behind his ears. He couldn't help but notice how the girl's eyes jumped around the pitch. He also couldn't help but notice how lovely those eyes were. Remus had been mumbling something about how he couldn't wait for exams to be done and over with , when Sirius turned to him and said, " I'll be right back , Moony. About to put on the old 'Black charm'." Sirius wiggled his eyebrows at Remus -who was rolling his eyes- and stood up, fixing his trousers , before walking down to the Ravenclaw girl. Her eyes remained focused on the field , where the players had begun to soar into the air. "Now what's a Ravenclaw like yourself doing at a Gryffindor practice ?" Sirius said in a bold voice , with a twinkle in his eyes. He preferred to start with a daring introduction. The Ravenclaw girl looked up at him and smiled a coy smile. "Don't even start. I'm not spying on the enemy for the Eagle team, if that's what you're worried about. My sister's down there. She's the seeker." She pointed down to a girl with a slight build , and a hawk nose . Sirius thought she resembled a pixie. The Ravenclaw girl next to him definitely did not though, he felt a tug in his belly when he noticed how her uniform hugged her hips. Sirius sat down next to her , throwing a hand in his hair. "S-so, " He coughed clearing his throat. He wasn't used to not being able to smooth talk his way into a girls head. "Your sister is in a different house from you?" "Yea , that shouldn't be odd to you , though. You're the infamous Sirius Black, aren't you? The only Gryffindor in a family of pure blooded Slytherins? " Sirius pulled his shoulders back proudly as she said this. "That's me!" He grinned , "blood traitor in training !" She laughed and Sirius continued , " Fine day today isn't it? Now tell me , why is it that you get to know my name if I don't know yours ?" He moved a little closer to her , so their hands were barley touching. Before she could respond , he moved even closer , putting his arm around her. "I'm Clarissa."She flashed him a smile , brighter than the sky, but there was something else in her eyes. "Though I wouldn't expect you to remember it, seeing as I'm one of the many ladies you've tried to chat up today , isn't that correct? " Her voice was still playful , but there was a definite edge to it now. Sirius felt his heart sink into his knees and he retracted his arm from her shoulders . "I'm not dumb you know. I'm not here to be another notch on your bedpost. " Clarissa looked hurt. Sirius quickly raised his hands in the air in a mock surrender. "Hey hey hey, first of all, I wasn't expecting you to be dumb, I noticed you because I saw the Ravenclaw emblem shining on your robes. Last time I checked that wasn't exactly the simplest of houses." He tried to get a smile out of her by winking slightly, which made her narrow her eyes , but the ends of her lips threatened to turn into a grin. "Secondly, you're the only lady I've chatted up today! Unless you count Remus, but I wouldn't , you'd be hard pressed to refer to him as womanly." Sirius continued on, feeling his confidence growing when Clarissa snorted. "AND, between you and me, my reputation truly gives me more credit than I deserve. Hardly any notches on the bedpost. Quite difficult to 'notch' people when James is snoring like a hippogriff two feet from my mattress." With this last remark, Clarissa roared with laughter, a noise not unlike the Gryffindor's enchanted lion banner. "My god you've got a brilliant laugh." Sirius remarked as he grinned at her, truly entranced. " Would you want to accompany me on a notch-less bed post date , perhaps a trip to Hogsmeade?" Sirius glanced at her , his heart pounding harder than it should have been , considering he had just met this girl. But his hormones didn't care about that. Clarissa moved closer , so she was close enough to whisper into his ear, and playfully bumped into his shoulder. His hormones really didn't care about that now. "I suppose , as long as it is indeed..." Clarissa backed away from him slightly before she continued , so she could look into his eyes. "Notch-less" Sirius shuddered involuntarily , immediately feeling stupid, before breaking out into a laugh. Embarrassed, he jumped back a bit. Clarissa just grinned. "I think you better get back to your friend , I imagine he's getting quite bored up there spying on us." "Wha?" Sirius turned around and glanced at Remus , who snapped his head away and suddenly became quite interesting in the clouds. "Oh right , yea. Uh, see you for the Hogsmeade trip this Saturday, then?" Sirius asked nervously. Clarissa just nodded , a devilish smile on her face, and she turned back to watch the Quidditch practice unfold in front of them. Sirius sauntered back up to Remus, his chest pounding. He was about to brag about how wicked his flirting skills were , when Remus snorted and said "So much for the 'Black Charm', eh? I could see you blushing from over here." "Oh, fuck off." Sirius pouted, sitting down . "Is this over yet? James better get off that bloody broom. I have to get back to the dormitory and pick out my clothes for Saturday. I have a date." Remus rolled his eyes at this last remark , but couldn't help but notice how the girl Sirius had gone to talk to was anxiously looking back at them, a soft pinkness spreading across her cheeks.
