Swinging in at the last second, here’s my submission for @poketcg-art ‘s hoenn card redraw!

The original card is by HNCL, as seen below the cut! (I also ramble a bit down there too)

This was such a fun event and I’m glad I joined! (Even if I did end up being a tad late- sorry!!!)

Can’t wait to see everyone’s art!

I definitely bit off a bit more than I could chew with this one- but I’m super proud of it! I really wanted to do something more painterly, and had to get back into the mindset of how I’d do oil- lots and lots of layering, blending, and deciding when to let brushstrokes be visible.

This is the first full finished piece I’ve done in absolutely forever- I think I did a few for art fight last year? Nothing to this scale, though. I really haven’t drawn much since graduating. This was sorta my way of forcing myself to get back into it- I really missed art! I’ve had more than enough time to rest and do other hobbies, though, and this was definitely the push I needed. Again, I’m really really proud of this piece!

So I’m a soundtrack person and, although I didn’t care for the mermaid ‘design’ in the 4th potc movie (or a lot of the movie for that matter) the song Mermaids on the soundtrack is just 👌 imo. The slow haunting buildup and then finally crescendoing into exactly what I’d imagine the music being for trying to outrun something chasing you just below the waves.

I'd like to say that I really appreciate all the love I get for my writings!

I always had a lot of trouble with writing without a prompt, so fandom writings always made me curious to try, but I've always been horribly worried about my writing, I've struggled with reading, grammar, and spelling for years, but only recently came to terms with the fact, that it was all to levels that I definitely had a learning disorder of some sorts (I assume dyslexia) and realizing there was a reason I struggled with it, just made me want to do it more!

So for the first time ever, I posted my writing to the public! And I've been surprised every time since at the likes, comments, and reblogs I get! I appreciate every single one of you as I start to figure out what it's like to be a dorky writer~
