Very late to this discourse but i only recently saw that post where someone said they want crosby killed off and called him useless (complete bs with no merit) and in it they were so sure of it and were very sure that clinton would come back. But since clint isn't coming back thats even more proof that they're probably wrong about kenny

Hi, thanks for saying this. Glad to know there’s more people who like Crosby enough to want him to stay. :)

Honestly, I only replied to that person, back then, because I was wondering about the probable scenarios, and they said, “they have reasons” to think Crosby would be killed off. I was curious what were those reasons, and whether it was something to worry about. As it turned out – it wasn’t.

Their arguments boiled down to their own personal dislike of the character and some speculation about behind-the-scenes stuff that we really know nothing about, so I’m not going to discuss that.

What I really care about is storytelling and – since I’m prompted (thank you Anon, I love getting prompted like this ;) ) – I’ll now allow myself to spin some theories on how this cliffhanger might be resolved.

There’s five people in the scene, three guns and we hear three gunshots.

I’ll say right off the bat, that I’m sure Tali won’t get shot, because we’d already had a scenario where Jess was worried about her safety (in the crossover episode with FBI) and traumatizing the kid any further would just be cruel. Yes, in a way this is something I just don’t want to happen, but also, I don’t think it would make for an interesting story (if it was ChiPD they would recycle an old story, but I think FBI MW has better writers).

I’m also pretty sure Hugh will not get shot, at least not fatally, because he could make for a good fugitive in the opening episode of the new season – and make the episode a direct result of what happened in the cliffhanger.

I don’t see Jess getting shot either, because who would lead the chase, right? I dunno. Jess getting shot? *error* Does not compute *error*.

That leaves Crosby and Sarah. And it makes sense, actually, that Crosby would get shot, but not killed. I mean, what with his fear of dying and past trauma resulting from expecting to die? It would make for some interesting storylines in the future, I think. And, of course, a motivation for the team to chase Hugh.

Because Sarah will obviously be a motivation for Jess. This has been foreshadowed rather clearly, although I’m not sure how I feel about Jess, once again, being sad that the woman he loves got hurt. It’s a little redundant. I mean I’m pretty sure she will not die, but still, Jess will mope again and perhaps feel that everyone he loves gets hurt, but I can see them recycling this old trope, given how everything in the show is so Jess-centric.

I also saw some theories that Sarah shoots Hugh, and that could also make for an interesting scenario. Of course then she wouldn’t get hurt herself, because that would make the storyline too muddled. It would be interesting, though, to see her dealing with the aftermath of shooting someone, even in self defense. On the other hand, Sarah is not one of the main characters on the show. Frankly speaking, I don’t really like her taking the spotlight away from the Team, but that is my personal preference.

Mostly, I would like for something to happen to forward the team building. Perhaps Crosby getting shot (not killed) could be that thing?

I just had a thought that if Jess got shot, that might put Barnes in the leadership position and that would just be… OhMyGod… AMAZING! But would they go there? Oh, I don't kno. But I would love that. I love Barnes! And it would do all kind of interesting things to the team dynamics, which… Oh, I don’t even know. That would be so weird though…

Ehh, I’ll better just end this meta here, because I’m coming up with some weird theories, lol.

Do you think Fitz could be somewhat present in MMW? I have a theory that Huntingbird are framed and set up for whatever may be (could you clear up what it may be too?) and before they go on the run, Fitz sort of shows up to say he doesn't believe they're the ones responsible, and like acts as a sort of informant for them, telling them when the people after them (again, not sure whom) are getting close and stuff. Thoughts?

Sorry it tookso long for me to get to this!   From thesynopsis of Most Wanted we know that Bobbi and Hunter have been framed forsomething since in Most Wanted they are on the run trying to clear theirnames.   On top of that they can’t turnto Shield for help.   What we don’t knowis if Shield is forced to turn their back on their to save themselves or ifthey so badly defy Coulson that Coulson is hunting them too.

I’ll startwith the theories of what they could be framed for.  Totally cool if you don’t agree with me orhave one of your own guys!  I love tohear them!

We saw in thesneak peek a big one.   Going afterMalick.  Coulson made it crystal clearwhy they couldn’t go after him, that he was too powerful, they were on Russiansoil, and it would literally start a war.  Hunter isn’t always the most rational about things so if Malick stepstoo far, threatens someone that he cares about he might just try itanyway.   We know that Malick was stillfilming in 17/18 so they won’t succeed in killing him.   That doesn’t mean they don’t try or hedoesn’t fake his own death.

The Russianenvoy in Inside Man said that there were people he needed out of the way inorder for the Inhuman Sanctuary to happen.  If Malick is orchestrating this he could use Hunter and Bobbi to takethe fall be it he is gunning for them specifically or is trying to pin it onShield and they take the fall.

We know thatthe President is listed as a guest star so he could fall into the samesituation as the Russian officials they need out of the way.  Trying to assassinate the US President wouldcertainly force them on the run.  AgainMalick could make it look like them or Shield did it and they take the fall.  My gut is the President is more thereordering Coulson to hunt them down, that they must be turned over.  Coulson lets them escape or they have to club him and May over the head and run for it.

Only one ofthem is framed and the other refuses to leave them and goes on the run withthem.   This could set up a trulybeautiful scene between the pair.  MaybeCoulson remarries them on the Zephyr before they take off for good measure(hey, I like that one!)

Some unknownhorror we don’t know yet.  This is AOSthey can throw things at us out of left field.

Now we’veseen tweets from numerous writers for the spoiler sites who have seen PartingShot, the general consensus is that we all need tissues, chocolate, and thosewho drink will need at least two bottles of wine.  Those of us who don’t drink plan on having anextra pint of two of Ben & Jerry on standby.   That we are going to get a HUGE emotionalgut punch.

One big waywe can all see our hearts getting ripped out and torn in two is our favoriteHuntingbird Dynamic they have set up. The dynamic they reminded us of in the sneak peek.  Big Bro/Sis Hunter and Bobbi watching out fortheir little bro Fitz.   Sorry after seeingFitz fight in Maveth I have the headcanon that Hunter trained him as that to mewas totally a Hunter esque take down of Will.  So them having to say goodbye to the team is going to suck, bigtime.   Bobbi/Mack/Hunter have alwaysbeen close.  But them saying goodbye toFitz….ugh I’m crying already.  

We also havethat mental headcanon now of Fitz handing them a case full of gadgets, tellingthem to not die out there.  Them tellinghim to go get his girl, be safe, and be happy.  So I am praying to the AOS gods right now that they do not make it looklike Huntingbird betrayed Shield in some way.  But you’re right I don’t see Fitz buying it, even though he has beenburned before (Ward and even Mack/Bobbi to a certain degree), I don’t see himaccepting it.   And I ADORE the idea ofhim either helping them escape or trying to help them on the run byperiodically sending them info or a care package with some new toys.

And in good news me not getting to your answer paid off (thank you @overworkedunderwhelmed)   Brett and Liz were at WIzard Con today and we got a tweet from someone there saying they can’t confirm or deny a MMW appearance….with a wink.  That is as close to an actor to come to saying yes in these kind of situations.  No, I don’t think we see HIve on there but FItzsimmons!   Looking good!!!!

Depending onthe circumstances of their departure we could totally see the others AOS cast pop upon Most Wanted.  Don’t think it willcross over as much as shows like Flash and Arrow, but there is thepotential.   Fitz, Fitzsimmons, and Mack are at the topof my list since they have the closer relationship with the pair.  Mack if there is a situation where they needsome muscle or something tied to their shared past.  Fitzsimmons for a science/tech basedendeavor.  Or like you said Fitzdelivering some new toys to them like their own little sneaky Q flying underShield’s radar.

The title“Parting Shot” also indicates that one part does damage to another on their wayout.   For example, if Malikck is outedas the villain he really is he takes Huntingbird down with him, claiming theyare some of his most loyal and trusted minions or something.   Or Vise Versa Huntingbird knows they aregoing down and they take Malick or someone else down with them.

Long answershort, I do see and hope that it is left open enough that we can see somecrossover between the two shows, we’ll know better after we see the fallout of13.
