So one of the funniest things I learned today was that there's this really old text written by a dude named Plautus called Mostellaria, which translates to "The Haunted House". Its basically this Roman kid throwing parties and spending his dad's money while he's away, and when his dad comes home early, in order to stop him from finding out, the kid just lies to his dad and says it's haunted and too dangerous for him to go inside
AND THE DAD JUST GOES
"Oh...Okay then!"
Like, I'm dying, what??? 🤣
