Current theory is I didn't get into fandom in the way most people did in my preteen years because I got into MU*s instead of fanfic/fanart communities. (I wrote fanfic, but never shared it outside of school projects, and I didn't read any until I was like 14-15 and there wasn't much in that fandom so I ran out.)
What happened to the MU* kids? I guess some may still be on MU*s, but are we on Tumblr now? A few of us were on lj but probably not much now. I sometimes forget how big a part of my life they were for... almost 10 years? I guess I didn't play as much in HS but I probably started younger than 8.
