Pride Movie Marathon
Saturday!
GBF: Michael Willet being his cute self, Natasha Lyonne as an English teacher type cat lady, and the two gay guys don’t up together just because they are the only out guys they know. Sporks the idea of collecting gay boys as accessories (as well as black girls).
Better Than Chocolate: Adorable baby lesbians with Christine Cox as a butch/futch painter. Trans woman character hooking up with a tiny nerd!lesbian, and a bisexual character (although they play into the ‘promiscuous bisexual’ trope). Generally pretty feel good.
Girltrash: Big Lesbian Musical! Pretty cute. Drawback, only two girls of color, and one is a crazy black woman chasing them with a golf club for the whole movie...? What?
Itty Bitty Titty Committee: Latina lesbian who works for a plastic surgeon’s office runs into raspy-voiced blonde girl and follows her into her Problematic Radical Lesbian activist group that is unhealthily focused on pseudo-punk activism that is entirely too focused on genitalia. Fortunately, Blonde is a fucking mess, and by the end, the Latina lesbian has taken over the movement and given them some actual focus, beyond the various girls getting drawn in by Blonde. Also, they have a trans man in their midst, and none of the core cast has a problem with him. And there’s a bisexual girl, and the only one who has a problem with her is Blonde the Problematic.
But I’m a Cheerleader: Natasha Lyonne is a lesbian cheerleader who get sent to de-gaying camp by her friends and parents, and ends up with a girlfriend.
