Poly!Sodapop and Dallas x Scholarly!Reader Headcanons

A/N: So I have absolutely no idea what happened to this ask, but I know somebody asked for it at some point, so...here it is!

I have a feeling this is going to wind up being a little short, just cause it’s such a focused piece-

But fear not! I do have tons of ideas!

These two boys just scratch my brain in a way I never really considered until I did that first piece, but now, I really do enjoy just thinking about them, rotating them in my mind like personal little rotisserie chickens-

Anyways-

Back to the actual stuff you wanna hear about-

Sodapop’s a drop out and you really can’t argue about this, it’s literally canon canon, so ya know, that’s just that-

Boyo never finished highschool but he’s got a job and he brings home a paycheck to support his family so that’s all I have to say about that!

Dallas on the other hand…

Who am I kidding? Boy might as well be a drop out because realistically, he’s only like 17 and I can’t for the life of me imagine Dal sitting in classroom for more than five minutes

So yeah, you’ve pretty much got two drop out boyfriends but ya know, that’s alright-

With you though, you’re like the total opposite of these two guys, you’re way into your schoolwork and you get good grades for it!

I’d like to say that Sodapop and Dally aren’t going to have a negative impact on your grades…but…

At least, until you start figuring out how to balance the two boys and your schoolwork, things might slip a little-

But anyway!

They’re of no help on your homework

If the dropout information didn’t give it away, these boys aren’t quite the best at school, so if they’re sitting in on your study sessions, they’re just there for moral support

I’ve got this image of Dallas trying to read flashcards off to you like you asked, and you’re doing your best to answer but it’s real hard cause he comments on each and every card cause glory doll, I just don’t see why you need to know all this shit-

Sodapop has no qualms about roping in Ponyboy so that PB can try and explain a topic to Sodapop so Soda can impress you by understanding 

If you don’t think that’s cute…

I don’t know what’s wrong with you

A lot of people really don’t understand what’s going on between the three of you, especially when y’all are so different, but the differences is what makes it work

Soda’s got such a blunt way of putting things that sometimes his creative ways of thinking help you grasp concepts you’re struggling with

Dally’s party-loving ways make sure you don’t spend all your best years with your nose buried in a book-

He’s gonna make sure you get some partying into your system whether you think you need it or not

They’re both notorious for crashing your studying times, especially if you told them you wanted some quiet, alone time to study

Sodapop may come bearing snacks as a bribe, but really they’re both hoping you’ll let them hang around for a while so they can ultimately convince you that hey, you didn’t want to study, you wanted to make out with them for a while

Dallas is guilty of joking about the best study method being the one where he gets to reward your right answers with kisses and ya know…for your sake and happiness…I say ya oughta let him do it-

Anywhos…..

They both love to celebrate your academic achievements and will always offer to take you out after you get a test back or some kind of good grade because they think you really are amazing with all your grades

Sometimes, they don’t feel smart enough for you, they think that they’re holding you back from doing better things, but then you’ll look at them, give them that little smile, maybe even a kiss on their cheeks, and they’ll realize you’re the smartest one out of the three of you

If you’re sticking around, that must be the right answer

Pile o'them Bones!! (Greasers x Reader) (HEADCANONS)

Notes: FINALLY GETTING TO THIS ONE IM SO SO SORRY @theghostofilli love you heaps you da goat for being kept waiting for this one, enjooooooooy!! Also you do not have to pay for my mediocre writing don't you worry

Darrel Curtis: Okay He definitely raises a brow at all of it- he'd be more normal about it if he wasn't in with the popular crowd in high school is his theorization, he still thinks internally he's more judgemental than he possibly could've been otherwise. Not that you particularly cared you knew it was something that wasn't normalized in Tulsa

Dallas Winston: He reckons it suits him, tuffest guy in town and his girlfriend who collects bones. I mean man can you get any cooler than that? Not really in his totally unbiased opinion, so he's never a complete dickhead to you. It's very punk before punk was a big thing in his unbiased (Incredibly biased) opinion

Johnny Cade: I mean, Johnny kinda just credits you to whoever he mentions it to for never wasting an animal if someone in town you know goes hunting. I can see the Greasers happily testing their hands at hunting and giving you free reign on what you wanted to take from their findings after they had dinner or something like that

Ponyboy Curtis: No.. horse bones.. right.. right.. jokes Idgaf, anyway. Ponyboy finds it very interesting- he honestly acts like it's completely crazy to anyone else who it comes up to, he cares about judgement what can he say? He's literally a fourteen year old boy (idk trying to be #accurate)

Sodapop Curtis: He's positive about everything, I think Soda just likes to look on the bright side. Sodapop would always be one of those people who will swerve so he doesn't hit animals when driving but he ends up going over the speed limit enough for a thrill it definitely happens on the occasion- so he'll always call you to tell you exactly which street that happened on 'just in case you want it!'

Steve Randle: Similar to Soda except he doesn't swerve, then he scoops up and brings to you before you tell him first off not to be doing that and second that none of those bones are salvageable and he gets all huffy and annoyed about it (Make it make sense Steve Randle) "All that gross shit for what"

Two-Bit Mathews: Oh maaaaaaaaan he clowns on you crazy style but of course he's still nice enough to you that you guys have a healthy relationship, surprisingly he gets squeamish about that stuff but if he's drunk enough he points to things and likes to happily ask 'are y'takin' bones from that one?' with the response of "That ones alive" Very often coming from you

Babys- They Freak Him Out Man!! (Johnny Cade x Reader)

Notes: REQS ARE OPEN DW!!!! REQUEST TO YOUR HEARTS CONTENT!!! AND THIS IS ABSOLUTELY ONE OF MY FAVS it always amuses me how popular baby fics are considering most of my audience is I think teens

Unfortunately teen pregnancy wasn't new nor a mind boggling thing in Tulsa, so the fact you had a baby wasn't something anyone your age was shaming you for. Well not that you listened to the ones that would shame you outright, it was like how leaving a dog with an item they shouldnt have ultimately typically means they drop it

And it was dropped alright, no attention paid. Johnny had been staying over since pre baby times as far as you the friendship between you two went, this was the first time since you'd had your baby which considering that. It hadn't been that long since you had already said said baby, so here Johnny was

Sitting awkwardly in an old rocking chair since that was the nicest seat and not covered in footie pajamas Two-Bit had lifted for you and accumulated for you over the time of your pregnancy so you definitely weren't lacking toys or clothes or pj's specifically, or diapers or food which was exciting for you.

You wouldn't have to spend much money until a while from now the rate it was going "Gee baby's are real small" Johnny commenta stiffly as you hold your baby sat in a chair youd pulled to be beside his, decently amused "Yeah, that's typically part of the requirement of being a baby" you reply with amusement

You were just smiling entertained by his obvious observation "Yeah" he nods quietly, his wide brown eyes watching your sweet baby. Now he'd never been around babies, just been told by his parents how much of a waste he was as a baby.

"You wanna hold him?" You smile, cocking your head to the side a little "Oh I dunno- I mean seriously whadd'a I know 'bout kids!" He managed to voice crack out and look back at you with his hands up like you were a pusher trying to convince him to get on grass and he was doing a great job battling peer pressure

"Oh c'mon Johnny, when Two-Bit came over he managed to hold the baby so long I thought my babies first mama was gonna be for Two-Bit Mamathews instead of me" You add with your eyebrows raised, matter of factly which makes Johnny chuckle somewhat awkwardly but it was still genuine

"I dunno how'ta hold him" He says with a shrug- and his excuse and you tilt your head down so you can give him an eyebrow raise and 'really?' look better while he groans "You already got your disappointed mother look locked and loaded-" He covers his face with his hands, running them down his cheeks

"Just- pass 'im over- pass him over-" He insists putting his hands out and turning his head away wincing like you wanted to put nails through his hands which made you laugh as you nodded and gently rested your baby on top of his arms, adjusting him so Johnny was supporting his head and holding the baby properly

"See? That's not so bad" You said gently with a soft smile as your baby wiggled a little to get into a comfortable position, Johnny still grimaces before his face softens just a little and looks up at you with those wide brown eyes once again while you drop your smile to look at him completely curious

"Bad? Not bad?" You ask and Johnny nods a little "Yeah- no- I mean no as in ain't bad at all-" He says as he holds the baby, still stiff as hell compared at anyone else who had been holding the baby from the gang. You start smiling once again when he says that to you "Yeah" little baby full name being added after that

"He hasn't got no middle name?" He raised a brow and you shake your head amused "There aren't enough boy names I actually like- this one was like, the one" You say with a little shrug still smiling at Johnny who winces again "Okay take 'im back- he's movin'" He almost squeaks

You take the baby back, smiling at Johnny acting like the baby is a hot potato. Johnny just shakes his head "Babys- they freak me out man" He states and you just smile "You're still a natural" Johnny looks at you with a smile and you can tell now that actually, he's honoured you'd say that to him

No middle name, that changed within months. After Johnnys death your baby did get a middle name, the middle name Johnny.

Health class made every student squirm. 

When sex ed rolled around, you would either try to avoid looking the teacher in the eyes or your classmates who were going through the same thing. 

It was even worse when you paired up for a school project with said classmates.

“You’ll be making a poll about sex and the idea of love. The catch? You can’t ask your classmates. You’ll have to interview family members and friends outside of school,” the teacher informed, his smile soft but knowing. A bunch of groans followed, making him laugh.

You turned to Ponyboy, a good friend of yours, who sat right next to you in the back. “Be my partner?” you asked, watching his pencil scratch away at a little doodle of a horse. His ears were red, and when he looked up, his face was a little red too.

“You don’t have to ask anymore,” Ponyboy grinned, looking over at your empty paper. “Should we start at your place? Considering all of our friends are there all the time,” you asked, doing all the talking per usual.

Ponyboy didn’t talk much, nodded along, and listened unless you found something that made him tick. 

He nods.

So that evening you guys barged in with purpose, both of you pretending like you were detectives, when in reality you were nothing close.

Two-Bit and Dally were in the living room, so they were your first targets. Ponyboy flopped down between them, and you took the floor by the coffee table.

You watched Ponyboy hesitate, and you knew that you’d do most of the talking and he'd do the writing. 

“Say… Two-Bit, Dal? What do you guys think about love and sex and all that stuff?” You watched both of their eyebrows perk up, Two-Bit grinning ear to ear. “Sex is great,” he said, sipping from his beer. “Love makes it more complicated, but you know, I don’t mind. Feels good, so I’d definitely do nothin’ to stop it.”

Ponyboy scribbled it down quickly making you grimace. Dally sat forward, “Gonna regret this question. You know I don’t do relationships. Strictly friends,” Dally goes into gruesome details that make you and Ponyboy yell at him to stop.

“Gross! I asked how you felt, not about the details!” you groaned, jumping up to your feet. Ponyboy was so red, he looked like he would nearly explode. “You asked,” Dally said with a smug smirk. Ponyboy’s pencil stopped moving, “Just the idea, nothing else.”

 Two-Bit offered Dally a high-five.

“Serious? Sylvia lets you do that?” You hear Two-Bit ask. 

As you guys walked to the kitchen, you could still hear Dally’s words ringing in your ears. “Just how they roll their hips; sometimes they cry from how deep they're taking me. Their moans are the best part, then you never have to talk to them again.”

“I don’t know how they think like that…” Ponyboy said, leading you to the kitchen. “Maybe it’s something you’ll understand when your time comes,” you mumble, looking at his scribbled notes. 

“Gross,” He muttered to himself, leaning against the counter. He had been dreading asking his brother, but if it's what he had to do… 

You grin, watching Darry do the dishes. Johnny helped him. “Hi, guys,” you say. Both of them look at you, knowing that coy smile. “What do you want? What’s with the notebook?” Darry asked, shutting off the sink.

He wiped his hands on his jeans, and Johnny just shoved his hands into his pocket. 

“Sex education class. Tell me, how do you feel about loveeee and sex…” You drag on teasingly. You watch Darry redden, just like his brother. 

He crosses his arms with a shrug. “I think that you have to love somebody a lot before having sex; don’t listen to Dally’s stories. You get lonely that way,” Darry informs, fatherly and gruff. He tried to ignore how his skin crawled.

“But sex?” you prod. “You're relentless. I think that's a good bonus to love as long as it's safe.” 

Soda and Steve barge in, sweat running down their temples from working on the truck. “Aw, Superdope, your giving them the loser talk?” Steve teases, grinning ear to ear.

Darry shoots him a look. “Trying to make sure they don’t get any stupid ideas in their head. Ponyboy’s 14,” his voice was defensive. Steve popped open his bottle of soda. 

“What do you guys think about sex and love?” Ponyboy asked, looking at Soda and Steve, who both laughed. “Me and Evie can’t get off each other. You know I want to marry her. I mean, I wouldn’t just hook up with random girls if that's what you're asking. Maybe make out, but I need to know them for sex. Me and Evie waited a while,” you gave a small smile as you wrote it down. 

Steve always kept his language modest around you since you were a lady and all. Or at least that’s what you thought, not that you minded. 

“Sandy and I are mostly the same,” Soda said flatly, more the romantic type. “I think the first time should be special, though. No rush or secrets, so that you can really spend time with each other. It’s as close as you can get to someone without crawling into their skin.”

“And also it’s very important you love them,” he adds.

Darry gave a slow, approving nod, as if waiting for Soda to let a wild secret loose. He tried his best to make sure his brother was safe. When he turned away, Soda whispered, “But it's really nice; once you start, there’s no going back.” 

Soda clicked his tongue and winked; an eruption of laughter bubbled from Steve and Soda’s chests as they plopped down at the dining table and started to deal cards.

Ponyboy raised an eyebrow at Johnny, who just shrugged. “I dunno. Sounds nice, would want to get to know them better,” he mumbled. Johnny had no experience when it came to girls; usually he was too shy or, unfortunately, picked last in that sense. 

He just didn’t put himself out there.

You and Ponyboy nodded, happy with the data. You got some more answers from your own family, who were appalled at the questions. 

Upon turning it in, your teacher called you both up with a grimace. “I just asked for simple answers, not the details, you two.” Ponyboy gave a guilty grin. 

“Accuracy is key,” you commented, flashing a grin that made the teacher smile. He had a soft spot for the greasers, always shaking his head with a laugh. 

He sent you both back to your desk, never mentioning it again. “I think it was Dally’s answer,” Ponyboy leaned over to whisper. You shrugged. “Maybe, or Steve’s.”

“Definitely Dally.” Both of you erupted with giggles.

80s Married Life!! (Greasers x Reader) (HEADCANONS)

Notes: Im hoping this is cute ANYWAY ENJOY BECAUSE I LOVE THIS IDEA AND REQ

Darrel Curtis: I think it'd be peaceful, Darry would go one of two ways. Either stay in the childhood home or he'd go to some little cabin in the woods or far from society in general,( leaning towards the cabin path for him ) a pretty sweet childless life, the gang still comes and stays for weekends and such and it's all pretty chill

Dallas Winston: Cleans up his act, just enough to have one kid. Maybe a son, you guys end up living pretty lower middle class but it isn't too shabby. He definitely still encourages his son to live life and go get into fights if he's provoked even if he's cleaned up his act, there's a balance though if he starts to see the kid go the way he was going he'd definitely put some sense into him

Johnny Cade: I think it'd be nice and domestic, he'd definitely get himself into shit because he doesnt want you worrying or thinking he's not as independent because he's disabled from the fire in the church (you dont think that in the slightest) you have the boys coming over all the time just because they love to check in on Johnny and come bother him, so your home is lively as ever

Ponyboy Curtis: Locked away in his study in your New York apartment, you come to his door with random foods and such just to check in and make sure he's actually still a living breathing person and to make sure he actually has nutrients. Sure starving artist is a typical stereotype but you didn't need one on your hands at all

Sodapop Curtis: As many kids as he can convince you to- he's one of those husbands that ends up being allowed the delicacy of staying for girls nights when your kids go to bed, being very good and quiet with his hair in the world's teeniest front ponytail and face mask locked and loaded. He's very active and progressive for the 80s without even realizing it

Steve Randle: Mechanic husband 🥹🥹🥹 who comes home with buff arms covered with car oil and grease 🤤🤤🤤 who has to bat you off of smothering him with kisses when he gets home and hasn't showered yet, I think he'd have one or two kids but he doesn't think of himself as patient enough to handle three which was a typical amount at the time so he ain't doing allat. If he is a dad unfortunately he's a "go ask your mother"

Two-Bit Mathews: Okay contrary to popular belief he gets sober when you two have a kid, he's not the most involved of the gang but he's definitely involved, more involved than most dads around here in your town. I feel like he'd live in a big city, he'd be a business man who's great at conning people. He's always been great at convincing people and manipulating, so it's kinda perfect. No qualifications just connections

Playfights and Misunderstandings!! (Ponyboy Curtis x Reader)

Notes: Trust me I've gotten requests long enough people almost wrote the story they were asking for themselves ANYWAY ENJOOOOOOOY @mblolboi

Giggling and playfighting! What can go wrong with giggling and playfighting? A lot apparently as you and Ponyboy soon find out, you two are rolling across his and Sodapops mattress. You give a strained groan when you hit the mattress with your hand "Im tapping out!" You squeal before flopping and Ponyboy flops onto you

"I'd never have to tap out" He gloats like he's better for not having to tap out of a playfight between you two and you shake your head "you have the advantage here!" You argue with a pout and shove to his shoulder "Careful, that means round two!" He teases, he was definitely real playful when it was just you two playfighting like this

Steve and Soda unbeknownst to you were there with their ears pressed against the wall after hearing the ruckus "Ow!" You squeak when Ponyboy laughs and tosses you to the side with him again "you alright?" He smiles and you look up at him "Yeah it was just a little easier to do this before your growth spurt-" you point out

And here Soda and Steve were looking at each other with a grimace "Dang!" Soda says to Steve before they both hear you guys freeze and run off, the front door opening along with that. Absolutely shit timing on Darrys part Soda and Steve shouting out "Sex! Sex!" And wildly pointing as you and Ponyboy shoot up slamming the door open

"We were not!" Ponyboy yells voice cracking in the middle of it despite the fact it sounded completely suspicious and the fact you two were red from previous laughter didnt help in the slightest "We ain't jokin' Dar we heard em!" Steve yelps but grinning of the excitement in getting to snitch

"Door shut talkin' bout round two- it ain't right theyre youthful and innocent!" Soda cries out passionately, Ponyboy immediately pounces and leaps to attack Soda who is almost laughing at him and Darry shakes his head "hush up the both of you" He steps between Ponyboy and Soda as you give Steve a "really!" Glare of annoyance

"I'll get to you two" he points to you and Pony with an eyebrow raise "after I take a hot shower" he says simply as he walks off to go get to his shower, you and Ponyboy sit slightly ashamed despite not being in the wrong here. Waiting for your doom from Darrel Curtis to be served straight up to you

After that decent 15 minutes you get your wish, Darry runs his hands down his face with a groan "Listen, I'd prefer ya both wait till marriage- or death- but ya both gotta be usin' protection-" and Ponyboy shouts "Darry!" As you go completely red, one day you'd all laugh about this but right now you were all slightly horrified
