Today is the five year anniversary of Mostly Harmless Podcast!! Pretty damned crazy to think about! Five years ago I showed up to interview CHUCK RAGAN, opening for Social Distortion at the Ogden in Denver. They were doing three nights of shows and I was SOOOO excited to interview Chuck, I showed up a DAY early and to the wrong show. Chuck had been having a terrible day, but he still took time to chat with me and my buddy Ben. I had brought my mixing board and laptop. The Venue would NOT let us bring them in and so to make matters worse, Chuck had to come across the street and we did the interview in the lobby of the Econo Lodge. Chuck was in a bad mood, eventually warmed up as he told us about his childhood memories of dancing and singing music in his grandparent's living room in Alexandria, Louisiana. It was short and sweet and I was hooked. I remember leaving Denver that night and that feeling of Uphoria took over, I remember feeling much like I did a couple of days ago and I felt like I could conquer the world. Every single thing and almost every person I have met ever since then, was because of that night. I can't believe all the crazy, amazing things I've gotten do gotten to do because of that night. Thank you all for all your years of support, listening and friendship. I couldn't have done any of this with out any of you guys. I'm not a religious person, but I feel it's appropriate right now to say I am BLESSED. I really don't know what else to say.... If you have a passion, if you have an urge to do something, to create something. Find a way to make it happen. You're life will change and it will change for the better because of it. Will Mostly Harmless make it another 5 years? Who knows. I think of "retiring" all the damned time, but that feeling of when I sit down and get someone to open up, someone to remember... I don't know. It's a magical feeling and I'm hooked.
