“I can’t believe you’ve never been to a ballet. I mean, how uncultured was your upbringing, exactly?!”
fluorescent lights flashbulb behind his eyes, a reminder of death and bitter terror and the cold bite of saw teeth against his leg. someone he’d thought he’d never see again, someone like a GHOST behind him, driving him through every test, every procedure, giving his soul piece by piece to the memory of a man he'd barely known, a man he'd sold the rest of his life to jigsaw for. just like it had then, his perfect control evades him, leaves him hovering with a coffee cup forgotten in one hand and a cane in the other, staring at the man at the table, staring at . . . at . . . “ adam? “

Beverly held a cigarette between her teeth, the redhead clutching a lighter within the pocket of her overalls. Thin fingers began removing the lighter when a stranger nearby caught her eye. Curiosity enveloped the young girl as her gaze remained on the man who only drew closer and closer--- Beverly wondering what brought the stranger to nowheresville, Maine. Derry didn’t offer anything to outsiders, much less the people who already lived there.
❝ hey--- want a cigarette? ❞
STARTER CALL ;; @mostlypathetic
“i’m-- i’m so sorry,” her words were choppy as sniffles punctuated each break, “god, this is so unprofessional.” fingers pressed down on her eyes before she wiped away the tears that were forming. this needed to stop, he didn’t need to worry about her emotional state. he was a guest. clearing her throat and feigning control over her emotions, she placed her hands down against the smooth surface of the office desk. “is there-- is there something i can help you with?”
@mostlypathetic
"--I’m not even sure how you managed to do this.”

amanda knew better than this. whatever were to happen in this bathroom after she steps a foot inside, she knows that it’s going against everything john wanted. going against what he believes to be right, going against the game itself. but there was this nagging voice inside of her head --- it just wouldn’t shut the fuck up. it kept telling her that adam didn’t deserve this kind of suffering, and she went in with every intention of putting an end to it. she had a plastic bag --- ready to end his pain as peacefully as she knew how. but when it came down to it, she didn’t have it in her. tears stung her eyes, her breathing becoming erratic as her heart pounded painfully against her rib cage. what was she doing? everything inside of her was screaming at her, her brain kept reminding her of how disappointed john was going to be. after everything he did for you, this is how you repay him? ‘ fuck..... ‘ she muttered through a tightened, coarse throat. a shaky hand removed a key from her pocket. perhaps something inside of her had been planning for this all along when she secretly made an extra --- in case adam lost his forever, ‘ adam --- ‘ her voice came out in broken sobs, ‘ i’m gonna get you out of here.... ‘ unlocking his shackle, she gripped him by his shirt, grunting harshly as she tried to pick up his limp weight, ‘ fuck.... you gotta help me... c’mon... ‘

“Well, at least let me take you to my house.” Lottie took a tissue to some of the blood, soaking the paper through. “I can patch you up there. Or do you want me to call 911?”
