I love the idea of one massive polycule tying together every member of Huntrix and the Saja Boys. Is it particularly in-character? No. Is it really consistent with anything the movie laid out? Not really. But is it really funny to think about? Absolutely.
Obviously we have Rumi/Zoey/Mira who love each other a lot are probably the most stable relationship within the whole thing. Polytrix is kind of the eye of the storm in the surrounding madness.
Then you have Rumi and Jinu. Even though Zoey and Mira love her for who she is - patterns and all - Jinu is the only one who can truly understand her demonhood from an inside perspective. So Zoey and Mira cautiously allow their relationship, but they're always on protective guard-dog mode whenever he's nearby. It's very much a "you can stay because you make our girlfriend happy but if you hurt her again we'll make you suffer worse than Gwi-ma did" kind of arrangement. It works - Jinu is spooked and is always on his best behaviour when they're around.
Zoey and Mystery definitely have something going. She keeps calling him "good boy" whenever he does stuff for her, and he seems to like it (though it's hard to tell). She probably also watches him kissing the other guys cause she strikes me as a lil bit fujo like that. Mira once found a dog collar with a name tag saying "Mystery" in Zoey's bedside table and just put it back bc she doesn't wanna know. Nobody's entirely sure what's going on with them but they know it's freaky as hell (Zoey's involved - of course it is).
Then there's Mira/Romance/Abby. Mira doesn't exactly like them per se, and they annoy they hell out of her, but she kind of gets a kick out of bossing them around and treating them like her boytoys. Incidentally they like it too so the situation kind of works out. Romance pr gets freaky with most of the other boys too. On the side. Just as a treat.
Oh yeah and then there's Baby. Everyone's pretty sure he's aroace, but he's too caught up in the whole thing to not be considered a part of it. He's always spreading gossip around the group and stoking drama and generally being smug. I reckon he's the only one who actually knows the details of what happens between Zoey and Mystery.
Yeah idk what kind of scenario this even could feasibly occur in but it's funny to imagine the stupid drama they'd get into. Maybe I'll make this a crack fic one day.
Hey! I'm Moth, also known as Timothy Drake.
19, trans biromantic homosexual man, and I use he/they pronouns.
I lost my spleen in a terrible, terrible accident called 'Ra's fucking stole it' :c
In my free time: I like photography, makeup, parkour, and skateboarding.
For hero work: I go by Red Robin or Robin, and I specialize in tech creation and deep cover missions. hmu if you need help with either ✌
Been brainstorming ideas for a fic which is basically just a bunch of social media posts in the KPDH universe showing how people in the Huntrix fandom and beyond react to the events of the movie. ngl I just think it'd be really funny and also not too stressful for me to write.
Feel free to comment or reblog with any other suggestions! This will probably hopefully go up on my AO3 eventually. So far these are my favourite ideas (in chronological order):
Someone is bewildered at how Huntrix were able to skydive straight onto the stage at their concert with apparently no parachute. Everyone jumps into the replies to condescendingly explain in great detail how they could have achieved this with SFX.
That same night people talk about the wreckage of a plane crashing into the ocean not far off the coast. Someone jokes about Huntrix being responsible but gets shot down for "being an annoying stan who makes everything about their favourite girl group".
Several users deeply analysing the "hidden lore" of Huntrix' discography, pointing out the recurring symbolism of Demons. People theorise that they stand for a variety of things, from mental health struggles to the exploitative side of the kpop industry.
A small but devoted fandom dedicated to Bobby, making fancams and thirst edits of him.
"I'm trying to pirate this movie but I keep getting pop-up adverts for this guy called 'Healer Han'. who the fuck is this and why is he trying to sell me shady medicine??"
Fan wars after the Saja Boys debut.
VIOLENT shipping wars following the joint fan signing. Plus the usual handful telling everyone to calm down and respect the idols because they're real people.
Meanwhile a ridiculously horny Zoestery fix blows up online, written by a user who goes by the handle 'TurtleMaster' (hmm).
People having active debates about whether Huntrix or the Saja Boys are hotter, with someone saying "the bisexuals are well fed this month".
Crazy Rujinu dating rumours following them being seen together, and a vocal subgroup of fans crying "Rujinu confirmed"
Someone posts about having seen Rumi flying across Seoul on the back of a big blue tiger with huge round eyes. Everyone in the replies calls total bullshit.
Everyone going wild after the Huntrix "breakup". Some people think it's real, some think it's staged, but everyone is theorising about what the hell happened.
"Anyone else suddenly getting a really strong urge to go see the Saja Boys concert?"
Everyone is trying really hard to piece together what happened at the concert. Nobody can quite remember why they went to see the Saja Boys but were watching Huntrix perform by the end of it. A handful of photos and videos surface of the Saja Boys in their demon forms, but they're all super blurred and corrupted.
One or two people have dreamlike yet uncannily vivid recollections of Huntrix straight up murdering the Saja Boys.
Everyone's also trying to desperately figure out where the Saja Boys even went, but can barely even find any proof that they existed in the first place.
Following the reveal of Rumi's patterns, the "Huntrix lore" person comes back to do a new deep dive, complete with a lyrical analysis of What it Sounds Like.
Several people theorise that the Idol Awards breakup, and the Saja Boys' very existence, was manufactured by Huntrix to feed into the metatextual narrative that they'd been building up... which everyone agrees is a wild move but not out of character.
Someone makes fun of Rumi for her new "tattoos". Mira and Zoey get into the replies and tell them to shut up. On their official accounts and all.
'TurtleMaster' releases a new steamy polytrix fanfic which is doing bits in the fandom.
What if there was a Hunter whose weapon of choice was just a gun lol
It was really fun to sketch this! idk if any kpdh fans have played Othercide or Control, but I really like the designs in those games where parts of the weapon are just floating.
Now I'm thinking about a character who would use these. Maybe one of the successors to Huntrix? She'd definitely duel wield them, and probably do that thing where she throws her guns away and gets new ones instead of reloading. but ofc they don't need ammo because they shoot bolts of Honmoon energy, so she just does it to look cool
Just read a fic that referred to the new rainbow Honmoon created at the end of the film as the Prismatic Honmoon and tbh I wanna yoink that bc it sounds super cool
I like to imagine that the Huntr/x girls do mixed martial arts, and publicly they frame it as a side hobby but it also serves as good combat practice and a way of explaining away all the injuries they get while Demon-hunting.
Like oh yeah Rumi had a plaster on her face at the fan signing but dw she was just doing MMA with Mira the other day and absolutely ate shit. Zoey put it on her instagram story captioned "when is it my turn 😳😳😳"
