Can aquatic mothcats breathe underwater or do they just really like swimming?
They can breathe underwater! Saltwater Mothcats have a harder time breathing in freshwater and vice versa, but otherwise, they’re very well suited (and prefer) being in the water. ^^
So as canon bbuns can't think like mothcats/humans? As in they are in fact meant to be a pet, and bbuns who think/talk like humans/mothcats aren't canon?
For ease of roleplay, “speech” is allowed, but canonically, Mothcats don’t speak - they communicate with a series of meows, chirps, and body language, much like regular cats. Humans cannot understand or have conversations with them.
Bumblebuns are like real life rabbits and do not make noise whatsoever. Again, we do not restrict speech for the sake of the roleplay setting.
Therefore, any spoken communication between Mothcats and Bumblebuns via roleplay is allowed but not canon.
how are the mothcats, northern mothcats, and munchkins different?
If you look on the trait sheet:
Classic Mothcats are the standard breed with the largest gene pool. They are mixed from all the other different types of Mothcats, similar to domestic cats in real life.
Munchkin Mothcats are a breed with notably short legs.
Northern Mothcats live in snowy mountains with harsh climates. Their fur is thicker/rougher than standard Mothcats, and they have double coats. They are extremely fluffy, but their most distinctive trait is the “pseudo-lion” mane that they have. Their manes extend up to their ear fluff but do not go over their heads (like lion manes). In contrast, standard Mothcat manes start from their necks.

Are mcats/bbuns antennaes functional? If yes, how does it work? And how not having an antennae/hurting an antennae would affect that?
Mothcat and Bumblebun antennae are functional! They act as enhancements to their whiskers, so Mothcats/Bumblebuns with flexible antennae are highly sensitive to their surroundings.
Mothcats with “hard” antennae (i.e. horns or antlers) do not have the same functionality. Horns and antlers are hollow on the inside, but they are magically reinforced and are great for headbutt attacks.
Can aquatic mothcats fly? Since they have fin-like wings instead of real wings. If yes because mcats fly with magic, would that mean that mcats without wings could fly as well?
Aquatic Mothcats can glide, but unlike their land counterparts, their flying abilities are limited. They are more suited for swimming underwater.
Mothcats without wings cannot fly.
In other ask you talking about cursed mcats, would they be a breed of mcats? Or just mcats with certain traist considered cursed?
Yes, they will be a separate “breed” or variant of Mothcats. They will have certain traits that are considered “cursed” and can’t be obtained otherwise. ^^
When Elissar from the 2016 Infestation became a kitten, did another mothlion was created to occupate their place?
Yes! After Ellisar lost his Mothlion status, his power was returned to Sage, who passed it onto another cat.
They exist and I have an idea of what I want to do with them, but I haven’t had the chance to design them yet. :)
