who panics over everything?probably beth. mark would be a little more relaxed about it allwho lives on google and webmd to look up everything the baby does?neither of them because well lbr they always have a liz around telling them what to dowho’s on the fence about vaccination?neitherwho bothers the doctor at 3 AM?by doctor do you mean joe? then probably beth would be the first one to pick up the phonewho nudges the other in the middle of the night to go handle the baby?beth but mark doesn’t mind too much as she does it all during the daywho pretends to be asleep when the baby is screaming?beth againwho takes pictures and videos of everything?beth mainly because she’s home with them more but mark would when he’s homewho accidentally drops the baby? My muse hasn’t slept in days send a 🚑 to check on them

It's the usual response. With a sick Chloe and a pregnant Beth on his hand, Mark's not got the time to be anything but 'fine'.

Spending long days at work, evenings watchingover Chloe and nights doing everything else inbetween, it's needless to say he's pushing himselftoo hard. Not that he'll admit to it.

"Just sit down, love. D'you need anything?"

She's so so very dead.

Eyes on the pregnancy test which still lay in her hand, the churning of her stomach only ramps up a notch when she hears footsteps climbing up the stairs. Chloe only has seconds to slip the test up her sleeve, stowing it from sight not a moment too soon as the bathroom door swings open.

it wasn’t as though she’d intended for her phone to ring at that particular moment— and chloe’s language in itself should be reason enough for beth to scold her, but she’s far too drained for any of that. the teen had been picking up a good amount of slack in recent days and beth had to commend her for it.

“ sorry—- ” within seconds, her cell phone is powered off, however the newborn’s piercing cries still consume the air around them. hesitant, beth moves to scoop lizzie from chloe’s arms. she cradles the infant to her chest, a movement that does not feel quite as natural as it had with her first two children.

“ why don’t you go ‘ave a break, love? i’ll see if i can get her to sleep. ”

The last weeks would have been hard enough if only Lizzie had been born, but the added stress of the trial had pushed Chloe and her family even farther. She'd only attended the first few days, been inside of the courthouse on a few others, but most of her time these days was spent inside this house and looking after her little sister. While she wanted to be there for Danny, she knew she didn't have a choice now with the new baby. Who else did they have left to look after her now?

Allowing her mum to take Lizzie from her, her hand instinctively reached for her phone on the coffee table where it had been sitting ( on silent ) for the past hour. "Will you be alright with her?"

A small trickle of guilt ran through Chloe at those words. So far, it had predominately been her who had looked after Lizzie while her parents were at the trial doing all of the feeding and changing and everything for her. So far, it was Chloe that knew Lizzie best.
