What do you think about Polly? Do you think she would still care for Basil after The Truth (like how several fics ideally do)? Or would knowing what he did change how she treated him or even just outright reject him?

my god I have so many thoughts about Polly

generally speaking, I really like her!! I think she's such a sweetheart, she's great, and I think she has a lot of genuine concern for Basil. and since caring for him is what she's hired to do, I think she does still care for him post-game

that being said, I do think their relationship would be different. I don't think Polly would be told the Truth about what Basil and Sunny did as kids, I don't think the group would go spilling that to anyone, really. however, Basil did stab Sunny's eye out which. I think that kind of act of violence would be enough for someone like Polly, who is a nurse, to take a different approach in how she acts around him. she already said during the game that she hardly knew anything about him, despite being around him for years, so I think what Basil did might end up leading Polly to recontextualize her thoughts about him. before, I get the feeling Polly saw him as just a shy, nervous, kinda distant kid? but now Polly might think that shyness is secretiveness, that him being distant and nervous is because he's violent and can be dangerous to others and/or himself. I think she would be keeping a much, much closer eye on him

Omori Strikes AU [Basil Persona idea]: I thought of Ukemochi, the Goddess of Food, for him. If you read her Japanese mythology, it's pretty fitting for Basil as both of them were killed by a Moon-aligned entity (Tsukuyomi, Omori in Blackspace) and food spawned from their corpses (watermelon in Basil's case). Ukemochi is associated with her successor Inari Okami, famously known for their kitsune and agriculture domains. So Inari Okami could be Basil's Ultimate Persona

Oooo that’s a really cool idea! I already have Oberon as his Persona (who yes I know is already a recruitable persona in p5 leave me alone) and I’m not doing ultimate personas for them as Zenkichi doesn’t get one and also I’m lazy </3 But this is a really cool idea for him, the connections with their stories is really neat!

After I saw that Buggy-Tofu comic and I remembered the Sunny/Basil go to jail for killing Mari fics, I want to know what you think of that concept? Personally I don't think any reasonable judge would sentence them to that. Sunny and Basil don't need punishment; they need recovery. So I see them getting mandatory therapy to handle their guilt, depression, and suicidal thoughts.

I do have a post where I sort of talked about this a little bit

but, yeah. AUs could be interesting, but to me, I don't like the concept of either of them going to jail. and I genuinely don't think the truth is ever something that would come out of their group; I can't imagine any of them would want to tell the authorities, and even if they did, like you said I don't think they would be sentenced to jail. I'm no expert abt this kind of thing but, honestly I also just. find these kinds of pedantic scenarios ridiculous
