DeLarverie was a mixed race drag king whom many attribute to instigating the fights at Stonewall in 1969. She filled many roles as an MC, a performer, a bouncer, and a volunteer street patroller, and as such has been refered to as “guardian of lesbians in the village.”

I am selling prints of this portait along with my previous Marsha work here in my Inprint shop! All revenue made from my Stonewall Series will be donated to the Marsha P. Johnson Institute.
