How I Became A Literacy
Knowledge is powerful. Being humble is mindful. Expressing your thoughts in different ways is creative. Growing up as an African American kid I was confused in this ginormous world. But my parents and grandparents led me into the right direction to be successful. Even though I was hard headed and was anti-social most of the time I listened. I paid attention to my surroundings and how people act on certain things. My parents wanted the best for me and I wanted to make them proud so I showed hard work and dedication by reading everyday and writing book reports on what I read to improve my reading and comprehension skills. That also helped improve my spelling and penmanship. I am still progressing because I am still in school. As I entered college I became more open and started to express my thoughts more than how I use to. So I appreciate my family for pointing me in the right direction and pushing me to be a better me. My favorite inspirational quote from Malcolm X is " There is no better than adversity. Every defeat, every heartbreak, every loss, contains its own seed, its own lesson on how to improve your performance the next time'' and that's what my family did help me improve.
No matter what it is you want to achieve, be it losing weight or capturing your dream job, it can be a long and grueling path to reach the goal you have set for yourself.
