I've been pretty pissed off about the response I got from Cardo about this crappy G4SM, I expect better support for the money they charge.
Like the author, I didn't want some crappy boom mic so I did what anyone with half a brain does and bought the wired mic version. Turns out, despite the hardware between the two being identical, you can't officially get the latest update unless you have the G4 Rider. Meaning if you own a G4SM, you're left out in the cold. Apparently the software in the G4SM is optimised for snowmobile usage... but who gives a shit, I want a corded mic for my motorcycle, right?
So, with zero satisfactory response from Cardo Systems, I applied this hack. Now I'll just have to ride the bike some more to make sure ver. 3.2 firmware fixed the bugs the old firmware had.
