He-Man and She-Ra remake with both twins where the twist is that they're both some flavor of trans and you switch which one is Adora and which one is Adam but not which one is He-Man and which one is She-Ra, if that tracks

it would potentially get very fucked up in every direction (depending on whether they were binary trans or both bigender or what) and the discourse would probably nuke the internet but on the other hand Skeletor would never figure it out

I think part of why I'm never happy with reboots and remakes of She-Ra and He-Man is because their mom basically being female Flash Gordon is actually kind of an important background element to my enjoyment of the Filmation version and it's always one of the first things to get dropped

One of the main things that still rankles me about the She-Ra costume discourse is that nobody fucking says a word about how He-Man is literally mostly naked

Filmation She-Ra is dressed more like an actual person

And these campy half naked costumes were just the norm for both sexes for both shows and not actually treated as sexy

Nobody complains about Skeletor being half naked

Nobody complains about Filmation Hordak showing off his thighs constantly even though he's supposedly in a military uniform

It's not like complaining about Power Girl's boob window because the problem with Power Girl's boob window is they came up with a fucking stupid reason to explain it

Filmation motupop characters just dressed like that

Listen some of the shit they had Skeletor do in the Filmation series was genuinely fucking cool or outright chilling

There's the scrying ring of fire he made by twirling the Havoc Staff like a baton

One time he hypnotized Orko by very firmly telling him he was sleepy lmao

And like this whole slew of little things but also those muscles weren't for show he was absolutely NOT a squishy wizard and his major problem was that He-Man is literally so powerful he can treat Skeletor like a badly behaved cat unless Skeletor finds a particularly good nonlethal spell

(because lethal spells literally just no sell)

Even Filmation Skeletor would actually be pretty damn terrifying if he wasn't dealing with Magical Superman and that's why I enjoy the show so much lol
