Lantern Festival in Fushimi Inari by SONO
It is said that during that time of the year, the deities would gather at Mount Inari and so the people would hang the lanterns along the multiple torii gates to illuminate the path up the mountain for the deities to find their way. And so in return, the deities would grant them their wishes which they have written on wooden plaques known as Ema which are hanged along the path as well. Many people wear the fox mask or kitsune mask during the festival as they believe the foxes are the messengers of the deities of Fushimi Inari.
Haven't participated in BFSN in a very (very) long time mostly cause I haven't really been feeling myself these past few months.
BUT! I just got back from a two week trip to Japan with some friends and we had a BLAST! The cherry blossoms were in bloom all over the cities we visited and they were beautiful!
We also went to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea so I have now officially been to every. Disney. Park!! I'm weirdly proud of this.
(My birthday happened too but meh that's not important.)
I don't know who still plays but I guess I'll tag my usuals: @sushigirlali @katchyalater @tracylorde @the-most-beautiful-broom @goldenheadfreckledheart @marauders-groupie @wellsjahasghost @nathenmiller
babe are you back from your trip??? IF SO: HOW WAS IT <333
I’m not back, but I have WiFi and we didn’t get home at midnight for once 😂 So, I’m catching up!! We left Tokyo for Kyoto yesterday and today we hiked up Mount Inari to see the Torii Gates!! I’ll post more pics from Tokyo and Kyoto at some point, but check these out:
Glad to see you’ve been busy too!! Miss you, @mvcreates 💕😘
